We all understand that Harbough was at Stanford for a few years. Part of his credibility is the success that Stanford had after Harbough left. Maybe up until this last year, Stanford has done very well for itself indicating that maybe those players were tied to Harbough's recruiting?????
Being an Iowa fan, I would have loved to have seen Ferentz coaching at Michigan!!! That would be better for Iowa.
Rudock was a 3* recruit out of a power high school...but only garnered 3 stars. That says a lot. Many Iowa fans thought he would be a stud at Iowa....but his stats don't reflect...
Congrats to the Hawkeyes for a better season this year. Fran continues to build the program. Congrats to the Seniors for all of their efforts.
Gonzaga was a very tough opponent and much should be learned from that game for Iowa's returning players to build off of. Toughness, speed, and...
Aaron,
Karnowski is huge and will easily post up Woodbury and Olesani (foul trouble for both)
Wiltjer/Sabonis will cause a lot of problems for White when White is on defense (White disappears with physcial play)
Pangos is better that Gesell (no contest)
Bell/Wesley play better defense than Jok...
True, beat Davidson first. Chances are Iowa gets Gonzaga if that happens.
Gonzaga's bigs are very good. And their guards are more consistent than Iowa's.
But it's March Madness for a reason!!
Aaron,
Glad to see you posting again!!
Davidson will be a tough game for Iowa. Hopefully, Iowa puts two strong halves together with a lot of points. Iowa's length should be a factor. Iowa wins in a close game and then falls to Gonzaga. Gonzaga is too good and the match-ups favor Gonzaga...
Hope you all have been voting for Iowa's helmet over on CBSsports.com.
Iowa is in the "Osborn" bracket. In the first round, Iowa defeated Nebraska's helmet 56% - 44%.
Next up, Iowa-FSU.
Come on Fans!!!
Man, that NW loss is looming large. But in hindsight, that loss was probably very timely. Another B1G road win...and then payback to NW...on Senior Night.
The "what ifs":
- Purdue loses their last two game (@ Michigan St and hosting Illinois)
- Michigan splits their last two games (Purdue and...
With the MSU loss today against Wisconsin, Iowa is now closer to the #4 seed in the conference tourney.
I agree with your frustrations about how often Iowa goes brain dead at times/stretches of games. Being such a veteran team, this is a huge concern. If this teams figures out how to put...
Good win for the Hawks tonight. With a few more big breaks in Iowa's favor, the team could wind up as a 4th seed in the conference tournament. With a chance to redeem themselves against Wisconsin. Next up, a tough game at Indiana...but a winnable game before Iowa takes NW down.
Big win last night for the Hawks!! I think Iowa caught Illinois at the right time (just like Maryland). Puts Iowa 5th in the conference. I really don't think Iowa can get to 4th - teams just ahead would have to lose their remaining games. If the B1G tourney started today, Iowa gets the...
The WRs...maybe they were open and Rudock chose to throw to his check downs far too quickly.
The RBs...if the starters can't hit the cutback lane....then why are they starting?
The QBs...I would say that Beathard is the better of the two, but with the offensive game plan...I'm not too...
Clem,
Those rural farmers are loaded and donate money to the University. Additionally, many University employees pony up for seats. If I remember right, the first few rows court side were offered to paying fans to the tune of 100,000 for "X" number of years. Highly sickening!!
Clem,
Because at Iowa, the seating goes to the donors of big cash giveaways to the University. Many are old...so having to stand up for much of the game is out of the question.
Same goes to how Kinnick is filled up yearly.
If you aint giving big money to the University....you don't matter...
- It was the refs fault
- It was a cold gym
- It was too warm outside
- It was a fluke win by NW
- Sequestration
- Obama was out golfing
....NW is better than Iowa today!!
Pin this loss on Woodbury and White!!! Woodbury gets his layup blocked and can't finish a dunk. White, deserves to be benched. He's playing like a high school player: puts his head down, barrels into the paint/defense, and then throws up junk hoping the refs bail him out.
Again, the opponent...
