I think the problem is that Fields wouldn't listen to the coaches. He said something about them giving him too much to think about and they just needed to let him play. A lot of that running QB stuff came from him. Maybe he'll mature out of it now that he's been demoted, and realize he needs to...
A couple of things...
First, from a GM's perspective, just taking Caleb Williams is the least risky thing to do. If he's a bust, well, he was the consensus #1, these things happen. And he likely won't truly be an outright bust. He could break the Bears rookie passing records pretty easily, for...
Are the Cowboys just taking their lumps this season to set themselves up for next season?
Looks like the opposite of what the 49ers and Eagles experienced with a cheap QB and money for the rest of the roster.
This will be what it looks like when a QB who doesn't really take over games gets...
The surprise onside kick is dead with this rule anyway. Why limit it to the 4th quarter? That makes it look super gimmicky. Almost nobody would ever use it outside of then anyway.
The issue isn't so much the collisions but the speed of the collisions - guys hitting each other after getting up to top speed. Defenders won't be able to get much momentum before impact now.
Chances of nabbing Alt are good.
Legit skill positions and always a solid receiving back on the field, plus a pass-happy HC... Levis should be an above-average FF QB.
It’s tough because Williams will probably be better at the other team than he would be in Chicago. (I basically see him the way I see the Dolphins today - flashy and explosive but weak-chinned and will fall apart when things get rough. And it’s always rough in Chicago.) Poles would have to get...
I’m entirely sure that some of this “interest” wasn’t concrete and changed after FA signings (i.e. Cousins) and the difference between other offers at the time of the trade was trivial. Like a straight-up fifth, or a sixth and next year’s seventh. It’s mush-speak and should be ignored.
The contract matters. Pickett has another year before anybody has to decide about his option, so you get at least two pretty low-cost years out of him. Fields’s back is to the wall this year - Steelers won’t pick up the option by May 1, so either he makes Tomlin give him the starting job and...
Fields and Wilson will both be free agents next season as things stand, and whoever loses the starting job will lose a LOT of money in their next contract. Should be a pretty interesting competition.
