    Vanderbilt with some big moves!

Jerry Kill hired as offensive advisor. Tim Beck, Jerry Kill's OC, hired as OC. Diego Pavia, nmst stud QB, committed. For Vanderbilt, this is huge stuff! They'll be a fun/interesting team to watch this season. When has that ever been said?

Best first season of a show

I came across an article listing shows whose first season was its best. . 15 TV Shows Where the First Season Is the Best . Interesting read. Thought it would make for a good discussion. For me, three season 1's came to mind is being outstanding. None made the article. 1. Alias. (While...

    Poor Conference USA

Conference USA is in the midst of what has to be the most dominant postseason a conference has ever had. And they're a mid-major. * Won the CBI (Charlotte) * Has both of the NIT Finalists (N.Texas/UAB) * It's sole NCAA Tourney entrant is in the Final Four (FAU) Unprecedented stuff...

A 2nd position coach has jumped ship to Carolina for the same job

First Duce, now Todd Wash, DL coach. Not a good look. https://www.mlive.com/lions/2023/02/detroit-lions-lose-dl-coach-todd-wash-to-carolina-panthers.html

    Aubrey Pleasant fired

This is a surprise, not because the secondary is playing well, but because Pleasant seemed so popular. Not sure I recall a Lions' position coach ever being fired mid-season before.

    Austin Seibert waived

You can't make this sh!t up. Only the Lions. Such a joke.

Most predictable outcome of the day

O'Brien and his Texans go out and embarrass themselves after a decent looking win the week before.

    Special teams

Can someone please explain to me why, on earth, Quinn/Patricia brought Bonamego back here as special teams coach this season? I give him major props for beating cancer, and he may be a nice guy, but he's not much of a coach. He didn't do a great job (being diplomatic) with special teams the...

    Theo Riddick cut

Not completely surprising, but too bad. He's a good player. Often misused & underused here. He won't last long on the open market.

Vid - Quinn makes the call

You guys seen this yet? Patricia doesn't look thrilled. Might be lingering disappointment over losing out on Allen, or maybe he wasn't sold on TJ being the pick. Whatever it is, he clearly had something on his mind.

    Lions fire their capologist

Hired a few weeks after Quinn was hired in Jan. 2016, Matt Harriss is gone. “According to his bio on the team’s official site, Harriss oversaw all aspects of the football side of the business, including player contract negotiations, management of the salary cap and overall compliance with the...

    Bengals fire Austin

That didn't take long. They went from a decent defense to a bad one.

    Patricia fires special teams coordinator

Joe Marciano had been the special teams coordinator for three seasons under Caldwell prior to this season. During those three seasons, special teams was a bright spot. This year, it's fallen off a bit. Seems quite a coincidence for that to be on Mariano, but Patricia dropped the ax. Lions...

Preseason game 1: Pistons @ Thunder, 8 pm

New season starts tonight. With a new coach. I don't think the team will look much different, particularly on offense, but the change is a breath of fresh air nonetheless. It will be interesting to see how they look defensively and what lineups Casey tinkers with.

Still hopeful for Ragnow, but not a great start....

Detroit Lions: Rookie guard Frank Ragnow has allowed 13 total quarterback pressures so far this season, the most ever recorded by an offensive guard in the first two weeks of a season. www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-32-nfl-observations-week-2 Yikes.

Over the course of the offseason, I forgot how bad a coach Bill O'Brien is

    Didn't take long to remember.

    Alarming

I've never seen a Lions team look this inept and unprepared throughout an entire preseason. And that is saying A LOT. Patricia living up to his lineage thus far.

    Patricia losing players already?

    RJ returns

He started last night. Was limited to 15 minutes. 7 points on 3-for-7 shooting, and 2 assists. Did anyone watch? (I didn't). How'd he look? Meanwhile, Pistons won 2 straight, back-to-back on the road. Yes, the teams they played are both terrible, but they have been, too. And 2 wins in 2...

    The Detroit Orange

And here everyone thought it was the Patriots blueprint that Patricia would be bringing with him. He has now hired 7 coaches from the 2001 Syracuse football team. Including it's head coach. Kinda funny. The Lions will have at least 7 coaches from the 2001 Syracuse team. Here's why.

    3 games before the break

Had a feeling we might lose last night, but poor playing, poor coaching and everyone else winning made it a disappointment. Now a back-to-back tomorrow & monday (@ Atlanta, v. New Orleans) then home on Wednesday v. Altanta before the break. Then only 25 games remain after the break. Making...
