There are a lot of things to criticize, but perhaps the most frustrating thing is the repeated trainwreck third quarters. I would expect an offensive guru to be able to make some adjustments at the half, but week after week we look terrible coming out of half only to wake up in the fourth when...
It was a risky play because they wanted it to be easier for Santos and wanted to make it so the field goal was a walk-off instead of giving Brady 30 seconds. They thought it would catch Tampa off guard.
Do I like the call? No.
Do I understand it? Yes.
Honestly, I think the pass on third down...
The DL and DBs looked great today, as did Khalil. The last two weeks have been the most encouraging our defense has looked since the Minnesota win in the fourth game last year.
This team needed to be at least 4-1 at this point to survive that onslaught in the middle of the schedule. It...
And the last bump of the night from my good buddy, the chuckster. I miss it when the Nebraska fans still believed their program was gonna turn it around every year.
In response to me saying Russ would be a top 30 player in his draft class:
I love this new search function. Makes it easy to look at the 2012 draft thread.
I was trying to figure out how to post that. His horizontal accuracy isn't awful on deep balls, but he is really bad at getting distance right. The main reason for that is that his ideal pass is low and fast. On deep balls, that gives you a much smaller margin of error, and it also means that...
Maybe. When you compare the two QBs and their strengths, I think you get the following:
- Trubisky has a prettier throwing motion. It is more effective when he is hitting his target of choice (more on that later)
- Trubisky sees the pash rush better than Foles
- Trubisky is a more...
I am pretty ecstatic with this team right now. Honestly, I think we had some terrible calls go against us. Notably:
- Each of our first two offensive drives ended with missed defense PIs. The one before the missed field goal was especially egregious.
- The roughing the passer calls were bad...
The receivers had a rough game today. Miller and Robinson in particular had 3 catches combined on 12 targets.
Miller dropping that TD really changed the momentum in the game. Both picks were on the receivers, especially the second. Another Miller drop ended a drive, and they really weren't...
There were a lot of issues today, but nice to see them come up with a win. Trubisky has always had issues focusing in on receivers, but he can throw a nice pass when his anticipated target gets open. In the fourth, the OL gave him enough time to make plays. That last TD pass to Miller was the...
In the last decade, the only out of conference team to beat us by more than 10 was the 2015 Alabama team who won the title. In that time, we've beaten LSU, Auburn, Miami, and USC.
I guess we must have different definitions of "competing."
(Also, by all accounts we are about to bring in by far...
Also, with two of the Power Five conferences out and that weak schedule, Louisiana has to be hoping for a major bowl game at minimum. Appalachian State looks a lot worse, and the Ragin Cajuns were a class above the rest of their conference last year. They'll probably be favored every game on...
A truly shocking moment, but now we will get a first time major champion. There is a ton of pressure on Zverev, Them, and Medvedev. Sucks for Novak but with the lines person taken out, they clearly had to do it.
What is the point of numbering the tiers if they aren't rankings?
I assume you are probably right, but it's sort of crazy that they put us in Tier 7, when I would take either of our potential quarterbacks over anybody below Tier 3 in a heartbeat.
I think you are confusing Bret Bielema with Paul Chryst. When Wisconsin When the B1G from 2009 through 2011, it did so primarily on the back of Chryst's offense. Chryst's 2010 and 2011 offense both scored over 40 PPG only to be brought down in crucial moments by Bret's horrid special teams.
In all seriousness, you guys should claim the wrestling title from this year. You guys were as close to a lock as a team could possibly be. It's not an exaggeration to say you would have won it 99 out of every 100 times. Maybe 100.
But Lugo and Kemerer were both Seniors, so unless you know...
This eight game streak is the most fun I've had watching us since 2015. This group is clutch and has an aura to them. They may not be the strongest or most talented, but they know who they are and when they make shots, they can compete with anybody.
I think the Badgers probably make it in with 10 B1G wins, but I want 11 to feel safe. That would mean 4-3 the rest of the year.
I agree 10 make it in, but it's not the lock you are discussing.
