UConn forced 24 turnovers, got 14 offensive rebounds, and 20 more shots than Memphis and lost by 7.
Memphis is a complete enigma, but I'll take the win.
Hell, f'n Ole miss is more of a blue blood than Washington. So are Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida St, Nebraska, Iowa...
My football 4 blue bloods are:
Notre Dame
Alabama
Oklahoma
USC
Next in line: (In no particular order)
Ohio St
Nebraska
Texas
Tennessee
Miami...
the weakness of cbb overall tells me that if SDSU and Gonzaga win the rest of their games this year that they should both be #1 seeds. Will the committee allow that? I hope so, if they both win out.
In the last few years it seems that the committee has not looked at conference affiliation as...
Again, nothing but stupid and inane replies. Where were the refs? The assistant coaches? Security? Blame the 18-22 year olds! Nothing but a bunch of thugs! Rely on a 5' 2" lady and a male cheerleader to break up the fight.
Okay, I can't believe I'm writing a response to all the stupid and inane posts on this thread, but here goes.
First, I agree that stealing the ball if you can with 6 seconds left in a basketball game is a sign of hustle. I also have no problem with a guy hustling back and blocking his shot...
Let's see. Creampuffs: Oklahoma, Baylor, Oklahoma St. at the end of the season. SEC vs Big 12 bowls: 113-53.
There could be an argument for the B1G, but not really. Not this year, not last year, not in the last 20 yrs.
Any stupid argument that Big 12 fans can come up with. "Bowl...
The NCAA never, I repeat, never, offered any proof that Rose did not report a correct SAT score. NEVER. They cleared hin for eligibility FIVE times. The NCAA also made Andre Allen ineligible for the Final Four for a failed drug test. Did they test Arthur and Chalmers? They both failed drug...
That's not entirely correct. It was WWW and Calipari that got Rose to Memphis. Memphis was always high on his list, and he never committed to Illinois. Illinois was not going to give him a shot to play for a NC or be the first pick in the draft.
As a Memphis (State) fan, I would like to see us play teams from the old Metro Conference that are not in the AAC.
Florida St
Virginia Tech
South Carolina
Southern Mississippi
Louisville
Michigan bowl record in the 21st century
5-12.
There are 14 teams in the SEC. I know I'm reaching a little because TA&M and Mizzou are relatively new, but every team in the SEC (14 in all) have won at least the same number of bowl games as Michigan since 2000, except Vanderbilt (with 3).
back to the initial point of this thread: Big12 is best conference.
The OP has disappeared, imagine that?
Sec#1 vs Big 12 #1- 28 pt win for LSU (it wasn't that close...7 touchdown passes in the first half)
SEC#2 vs Big12 #2- 12 pt win for UGA with 13 starters out.
Sec#6 (4th in the west...
All of those arguments are still kind of irrelevant. The G5 needs something to play for. The G5 is 3-3 so far in the NY6, and all six games have been competitive. The G5 knows they have no shot at making the CFP, but so what, neither does Iowa St or Wake Forest for that matter.
I know that...
Okay, Memphis only averaged 39,000 to Utah's 46,000. How does Utah report? Tickets sold or butts in the seats?
Memphis did set a G5 record for attendance this year, and I made a bad assumption. My bad.
Again, with the Memphis loss, the G5 is 3-3 in the NY6. Penn St is a good football team. Memphis had over 500 yds in total offense against a B1G team that averaged 303 yds in total defense. It was a one score game halfway through the 4th quarter. I don't get that anyone doesn't think it was...
