@Cedrique
I was up to my knees in rice paddies, with guns that didn't work! Going in there, looking for Charlie, slugging it out with him, while pussies like you were back here partying, putting headbands on, doing drugs, and listening to the goddamn Beatle albums! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Sigh... When you’re pushing boundaries and being experimental and avant-garde and shit, you don’t have time to sit back and say “Will the peasants hate this? Will I bomb? Is this the work that ends my career?”
Of course, just like Pet Sounds, they come back in 50 years and tell you that you...
You may not always run the ball for me
But long as there are linemen out there trying to kill me
You never need to doubt it
I'll even give you 5 mil of my salary so you know I’m bout it
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on believe...
Hu, if somehow $100,000 in unmarked bills were to show up in two black duffle bags on your doorstep next Friday at 5:00 PM on the dot, would you convert to being a Phillies fan?
I mean, full baptism in Philly Holy Water and everything
This is pathetic. You’re 6-6 vs. the Phillies this year. You ain’t our daddy and before season’s over, we’ll show you who Papa is. Hope you feel good about your 3 “series wins” this year, retard.
I just have to thank God that Maikel Franco is no longer on the team. Holy shit, it has been so refreshing to watch Phillies games these past couple weeks and not have to watch him come to bat, field, or just see his stupid fucking goofy smile
Yeah, and I get why people are counting them out. The SP is what it is (bad outside of Nola), but I will say that the bullpen has been tremendous lately.
Also, Rhys Hoskins has the lowest batting average of any hitter since the ASB in the NL. You know he’s gotta break out of it sometime...
I don’t remember the film being implicitly anti-war. More like anti-corrupt and cowardly assholes who lead wars.
Which I guess could be interpreted as anti-war.
Any Jim Jarmusch fans? I’ve caught onto him recently. One of the best directors still making movies today, IMO.
Can’t wait til The Dead Don’t Die is available on Amazon
I think The Godfather Part II is a very good film.
So, just so we’re clear, there isn’t a single film that is universally acclaimed that you dislike? You just move in lockstep with what everyone else thinks? 95% on RT == Calsnowskier automatically loves it?
I gotcha. I think if you start moving films around, it kind of messes up the whole exercise, but this is a message board and I get where you’re coming from.
I definitely recommend The Conversation though. It was released in 1974, and has only become more and more relevant as the years pass.
I respect that people love those two. While I stand by my ratings, I will admit that I’ve only seen both of them once. A rewatch may be in order.
I’m a huge fan of Kubrick, and nearly all of his films were disavowed/misunderstood when first released, only to grow in critical stature...
When you disagree with someone and have no logical response..... just call them a troll.
Joseph McCarthy did a similar thing in the 50s, albeit with a different word.
