Oklahoma has officially been eliminated from playoff consideration.

Yeah, let them go home and catch it in their neighborhood without University Doctors to help them. You know they would be safer being monitored on the field than being away from the field. Lame excuse.

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

I will maybe agree with you on Syracuse. I respect their program but they have been down a while and their state is not a good recruiting bed. However, that still leaves ~7 teams for the ACC. Far more than the B1G. I see you didn't even try to argue Arkansas or Ole Miss because you knew...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

The issue with most of you losers is you act like you don't know anything about college football unless it happened over the last 5 years. You can't deny that Football is in decline in the B1G and huge decline in the Pac12. I do think the ELITE B1G teams will be fine but the league in...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Syracuse has a National Title, Wisconsin has NEVER won a National Title. Syracuse had high level teams in the 1990s that were competing for National Titles. Do you not remember Donovan McNabb? In 1998 for example, they almost beat the National Champion Tennessee Vols. They beat Michigan, the...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

I would argue the ACC. Keep in mind that I am also looking at potential and the full history over the course of 30-40 years. In the ACC, the following programs, with the right coaches, could all become the next Clemson: 1. Georgia Tech 2. Florida State 3. Miami 4. Virginia Tech 5. North...

    Upset Alert

Interesting story, Tennessee is 22-1 vs. in-state rival Memphis in football. The year that Memphis actually beat Tennessee was in 1996 when Tennessee finished in the top 5 and had Peyton Manning as QB. Memphis beat one of Tennessee's best teams EVER in a Huge upset but hasn't been able to beat...

Oklahoma has officially been eliminated from playoff consideration.

I don't know about this but I an definitely guarantee that Ohio State won't make the playoff because their chicken shit league decided to sit the season out. Same is true for anyone from the Pac12 although I don't think they would have made the playoffs either way.

I am kind of upset at the SEC

Don't get me wrong, I think the SEC would have likely lost some of their home games like the Big12 did today but it would have been GREAT to see the games. (It seems like 1-2 SEC Schools always embarrass the league each year. Arkansas being the most likely suspect. Tennessee did it last year...

    Upset Alert

Memphis could have probably won the Pac12 Championship last year and would have been the #2 team in the Big12 and ACC. Heck, they would probably have been in the top 3 team in the B1G and top 4-5 team in the SEC as well. I am fairly confident that they could probably beat my Vols right now.

I am kind of upset at the SEC

Book it... even if OU loses a game, Oklahoma is in the playoffs. Too bad we didn't play. I was pretty sure Oklahoma was going to beat Tennessee but I think TN could have played you guys tough. Also about the SEC, they will have no OOC Strength of Schedule because they didn't play anyone...

Big 12 should have followed the SEC.Sunbelt already crippled our playoff chances today

You played, that is more than can be said for the B1G or Pac12 and will mean more in the long run. Your teams were winners for just taking the field. I think the B1G and Pac12 fans are in denial on how damaging the impact is going to be on their leagues for sitting out. I think Michigan and...

I am kind of upset at the SEC

Let's be honest, Oklahoma is likely going to drill the Big12 this year and make the playoffs unless Gary Patterson has cooked up something good at TCU or Texas finally figures things out. Your only real contenders are likely TCU, Texas, and Oklahoma State. However, I think Oklahoma would be...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Oklahoma and Texas both won BCS National Titles. Ohio State is the ONLY B1G team to even make a BCS Title game. Don't get me wrong, Ohio State is for REAL but once you get past Ohio State, you see a major drop-off. I would say the #2 team most years is Penn State. Michigan has done a good...

I am kind of upset at the SEC

True but I think it is showing more how good these other teams are than how bad the Big12 is plus you guys will be fine from a Playoff race perspective. With the B1G and Pac12 sitting out, you guys are almost guaranteed a spot as long as you have a team with less than two losses. I think we...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Ohio State is the only team from the B1G to even make the playoff with the exception of a 1-time appearance by Michigan State who got crushed worse than even Oklahoma. Also NO B1G team except Ohio State made a BCS Title game (with the exception of 2001 Nebraska who was in the Big12 at the time...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

That actually supports my argument as 36 players is only enough for 2-3 football team rosters. Not to mention a player would likely rather go play for Boise State than Oregon State due to Boise State having greater national recognition right now. Also really good West Coast players may also...

I can see that. I am referencing this in another thread. The gap between the American, Conf USA, and Sunbelt vs. Power5 is closing quickly. Especially for the leagues like the Pac12 that don't have a very good local recruiting base. Iowa State vs. Louisiana is a great example...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Also a lot of this also has to do with talent. The Football Talent in the Midwest and West Coast is not the same as the Sunbelt team. Football just isn't as big of a sport in those regions so many times the schools in those areas have to go outside to recruit if they intend to win the...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Yes but the B1G is primarily those 4 schools listed. I cannot think of anyone outside of those 4 schools that is a true contender at a high level. Even among those 4 contenders, only Ohio State has done anything since the 1990s. Wisconsin is just sitting out but every time I talk to someone...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Look at it this way, the only state West of the Rockies to have a lot of Football talent is California and even then it is declining. While states like Georgia, Alabama, Texas, the Carolinas, Florida, Louisiana, etc. have most of the football talent. The players that do not make it to...

So with the B1G and Pac12 getting less competitive in recruiting, etc.

Dude, the Pac12 is done. They can't recruit at a high level (except maybe Oregon and USC) and they don't have the fan support. Every year, the league falls further and further behind the other leagues. I feel like it won't be long before the American League is a BETTER all around conference...

BTW, with the inconsistency of how teams have approached COVID-19, I would expect a lot of odd results/upsets over the first 2-3 weeks. BYU-Navy was a great example. BYU practiced while Navy barely did anything and it showed on the field.

I am kind of upset at the SEC

Why couldn't we have done like the ACC and Big12 and started today with 1 non-conference team per school? We could have also made an attempt to keep the Louisville-Kentucky, Florida-FSU, Georgia-Ga Tech, and Clemson-South Carolina rivalries alive.
