Put me down that the Bears aren't trading down from 9.
If they do, it'll be 1-2 spots at most. Poles is on record about how he grades out players and how he has a handful or so of "Blue" players (meaning guys he grades out very high) that he thinks will be available at 9. If one of those guys...
I wish you 20 years of these types of "enjoyable games" for your other non-White Sox teams. In the meantime I would like our franchise to figure out how to not be the worst team in baseball.
This sh*t is sad. We're so f*cking bad. There ain't no bright side to this disaster. How the f*ck does this even happen? Jesus Christ I haven't been this dumbfounded since the Bulls won 13 games with Dickey Simpkins and Brent Barry.
I just don't see us trading up. Too many holes this upcoming season. Granted, football is entertainment first and foremost...so Bears getting Williams AND Harrison in the same draft would be really exciting, that's for sure.
I want Joe Alt the most. The idea of Alt/Wright growing together with Williams is just something I can get on board with.
But I'm pretty good with any of this group of (realistic/potential) picks for #9 outside of Alt-in no particular order:
Odunze
Nabers
Fashanu
Verse
Turner
Anyone outside...
Counterpoint: We did this dance in 2017. With nothing to show for it 7 seasons later.
Second Counterpoint: I (or anybody else) could do what you are doing with any other sh*tty MLB team...and the promise of a playoff series within a decade for ANY OTHER MLB TEAM is probably higher.
We...
That we decided to make that man GM and run it back with Grifol can be argued as one of the biggest foreshadowings of a doomed season in professional sports history. Yeah, the roster sucks too...but when they said they're going with those putzes every non-casual fan threw in the towel on 2024...
Most of our prospects turned out to be duds. It's really a sad story. Anderson and Abreu were the glue. Everyone else is just bad or (in basically Roberts' case) not franchise-swinging.
I want to be shutout every day. Every f*cking day. It needs to be a full-on embarrassment situation all the way to the end of the season. Only way we'll get some change.
I wouldn't rule out an OT being drafted. We had like 4 or 5 offensive linemen in our 30 visits...A couple of which were OT's.
My understanding is that every significant player we drafted last year was met during the 30 visits...so if you find a list of who we met this year...It's probably...
