I think he holds it against the Lakers that they didn't sign him to the preseason squad a couple of seasons ago. He has plenty of options to get his max contract other than the Lakers.
Trade away Kanter and Singler, drop the non-guaranteed contracts of Morrow and Ilyasova, and they are there. Any team looking to help them out by trading for Kanter and Singler should certainly demand a first round pick attached.
