Series Thread: 2016 Summer League thread

Zubac is showing a lot of potential this summer. Great size and length and he'll certainly get stronger. He moves pretty good and has soft hands. He made a nice play on that little lob in transition last night. He has shown some nice post moves. He has a decent jumper. Of course the blocked and...

6-8 weeks if surgery is not needed. Roughly 3 months with surgery. Blake Griffin missed 3 months last season with a boxer's fracture. We'll know more later today.

So wade is signing with Chicago

Westbrook, the fashionista, would love being in Miami. I could easily see that.

So wade is signing with Chicago

I don't think the top FAs were coming whether they were paying Kobe $25mil or $10mil those last couple of seasons. He was broke down and the top FAs wanted to be on legit contenders.

Me too man. My first chance to really get a look at Ingram since I don't watch college ball.

    Lakers Off-Season Thread

Zubac signed for $1.03mil. I estimated Ingram's at $5.1mil, Huertas at $1.1mil, and Mozgov at $15mil. Pincus tweeted that Deng's contract is $18mil for year 1 and $17.2mil for year two, and Clarkson at $12.5mil for year 1 and $11.6mil for year 2. Russell (5.3) Calderon (7.7) Huertas (1.1)...

Yeah, I think Bari has a real shot at making the team. He almost made the team last year but lost out to Metta. I think he's a little redundant off the bench with Williams though.

    Lakers Off-Season Thread

I agree that they should look for a 2/3 swingman and a PF. I think they should consider signing a solid veteran PF ideally to a 1-year deal. Let some swingmen compete in summer league and training camp for the last roster spot. As it stands now, they are roughly $5mil short of the floor. A...

Which doesn't mean anything other than him becoming a RFA. It was a qualifying offer. They could have rescinded it after the Calderon trade.

Huertas just posted on IG that he is back for two more seasons. I don't get this signing considering they just traded for Calderon.

No one is pissed that Roy is no longer on the Lakers.

Trading for Cousins (not that he's necessarily available) makes more sense to me.

I believe they can get to more space with Black/Brown non-guaranteed contracts and stretching Young. The lowered cap expectation likely eliminates them from a 10+ year player max though.

Westbrook doesn't make sense on a team with ballhandlers like Irving and James.

Ingram is certainly nice but a draft pick. You can't really be happy with results given the way the front office maneuvered for all this cap space.

I don't think they make any more moves which tie up money for more than just this coming season. I think they want to have one max slot available. Salary cap expectations have been lowered by $6mil for next season.

Man, all this anticipation of the 2016 summer and all this cap space and the Lakers end up with Mozgov, Deng, and Calderon. :poke:

    Durant Signing With Warriors

Love and pieces for Cousins would be a good move for the Cavs in my opinion. He's not a plodding low post center. He has some range so he wouldn't necessarily clog up the paint for LeBron and Irving drives. He would punish Golden State inside. I think he'd be less of a head case on a winning team.

That was the lockout season. He missed 4 games. A couple points below his career average. A couple of assists above his career average. Close to a 50/40/90 season. He could still play.
