Sitting a 25 year old for rest is garbage. I sort of get it with the older players like a Duncan, but young men don't need to sit games for rest. It's not good for the product.
Lakers may benefit by matching a Jordan Clarkson offer sheet this summer
This article from Pincus describes the different contract scenarios for Clarkson.
That's a very altruistic opinion but a rare occurrence in the NBA. I think Danny Green was a good example of that recently. However, most players have limited opportunities to get those huge contracts. I can't see him turning down a max offer.
It will take a max deal to sign him. No doubt about it. A lot of teams will have a lot of money to spend and there are only so many top FAs. Whiteside will certainly be one of them.
The Lakers can certainly afford two max contracts this summer. I'd prioritize a couple of players: Durant and Whiteside. I really do think that the Lakers have a good shot at Durant, but it's certainly contingent on a few factors. Whiteside is a force and still learning. I like DeRozan. He lacks...
I've always thought of AI as a PG, but good list overall.
Isiah Thomas seems to be more and more underrated as we get farther from his career. He flat out dominated and was tough as hell. I love watching Curry. He's playing some special basketball right now. But the longevity isn't there yet to...
The Lakers could end up with the worst record in the league and still not retain the 2016 1st rounder. They could end up with the 6th worst record in the league and retain the pick. So goes the lottery. If they luck out and retain the pick, Philly gets their 2017 1st rounder which is top-3...
Come on fellas. Let's not get too emotional on a message board. I personally enjoy reading both of your posts. No one is sick of anyone's 'bullshit' here. Everyone doesn't have to share the opinion.
The Lakers need to get back to some winning ways before someone goes postal. It's going to take...
Russell is now getting practically as many minutes as the other top picks of his draft class. He's getting some end of game experience. He's playing a lot of his minutes with Randle. I don't think Byron is a good coach but he's doing a better job of balancing the youth development and the Kobe...
That is the scenario that I believe will happen as well. The Inglewood stadium gets built. The Rams leave St. Louis. The NFL network moves their offices from Culver City to commercial space being built in the new development. Whichever of the other two teams that moves will then also play in...
There seems to be an overreaction regarding injury risk these days. It's a professional sport. There is going to be injury risk regardless of the number of games played. I think the frequency of games matters more and the NBA is doing a better job of spacing them out. There is less back-to-backs...
Right? Dude can't stop crying about all those injuries. No guarantees of anything if they had been healthy. He's almost as bad as Doc and his incessant whining about Kendrick Perkins.
It could be a really quick turnaround this summer, especially if they hold on to their first rounder. That's a huge trade chip if they luck out and get the #1 pick.
