That’s kind of the problem though.
I dont think Kelly develops backups at all. They spend so much time training up the starter that no one else gets a chance to improve. They also rarely engineer blow outs to allow the backups game reps.
They did get a few more than we were used to seeing...
It only worked for one stop after ND. By then he was damaged goods. But fucker could negotiate a buyout better than anyone.
ND paid him more not to be the coach then the actual coach.
Can’t say I’m surprised with Book coming back. Clark was probably pushing him for #2 too and with Pyne and Buchner (hopefully) coming years probably thinks his shot is passing him by.
Big question is does Kristofic stay. He and Phil were HS teammates and it seems Jurkovec was a big reason...
I’d say the OPI call against ND vs FSU in 2014 would fit this bill. Very weak call that even if could be called would have had no impact on the play. The safety responsible for picking up that receiver was simply out of position and would have never made a play on the ball. That doesn’t get...
I think only 3 were playing (Drew Pyne, Chris Tyree, and the long snapper), but Pyne had nice numbers 9-11 passing with one gorgeous 42 yard TD pass. Tyree added a one yard TD run (was also named a captain).
All in all good showings.
Not sure what we’ll have but best scenario 11-1 (Clemson breaking the home streak)
Worst case 9-3. We play at Pitt who ALWAYS plays ND close, Satterfield can have Louisville humming by the time we play them and who knows what USC will look like by the end of the year.
Yes. And it’s been that way for too long. There is no reason a .500 team should be awarded a bowl game. They lose and they have a losing record on the year.
It’s embarrassing. And with the playoff system now even historical bowl games are somewhat meaningless now that they’ll struggle to sell out.
Agreed. 10 games should be the floor. For the first half of BK’s tenure 10 plus win seasons were too often surrounded by 8-5 or worse.
glad he has done it 3 times in a row now that’s the consistency recruits need to see.
Too bad. Nice having a legacy guy around especially one who was part of the last glory days. But from what I understand it’s personal reasons no bad blood with the program. I just hope they grab someone who can really train them up. Experience and depth are issues at that position
Passed away today at 74.
Former Bengals, Bucs coach Wyche dies at 74
Best memory of him besides his beef with Glanville was when he yelled at his fans to stop throwing trash on the field saying “this ain’t Cleveland!”
Wisconsin will be tough. Hate to say it but Pitt will be a trap game and Clemson will likely end the home winning streak.
I wouldn’t sleep on Louisville either. Satterfield is turning them around quickly.
All in all it could just as easily be 9-3 as 11-1.
Well either the reporting was wrong or he changed his mind, Kmet said he’s now declaring for the draft.
lucky for us we are loaded at TE with more talent coming in.
Wouldn’t surprise me. Especially if Buchner keeps his commitment because I think he will battle for a starting spot right away and that means Phil would have at most 1 year as a starter. That and the fact that Brenden Clark won the the scout team award suggests they’re high on him too.
