I Would consider a dynasty winning a title 3 out of 4 years or 3 in a row. Something like that. Not every couple or three season or so. Plus I always considered a dynasty to have mostly the same roster. This roster does not even remotely resemble the other Red Sox titles. Plus the Red Sox haven't even won yet so why is this even a thread?

There hasn't been as much continuity as Id like from a "dynasty". But maybe the turnover at GM, manager, the entire pen, the manager again, almost the entire staff(Lestah was around for most of the "dynasty" right?) and everybody else aside from Big Papi, is what makes it a dynasty? I don't know what the requirements are. (Weve already discussed the former Boston players all over the post season on this board. Very impressive)Three championships seems like a good spot to set the minimum. But maybe it should be within 8 seasons? Maybe the series should end first, and the winner gets to be a dynasty? Idk. The Habsburgs are still my all time favorite dynasty. (Sauwks fans prolly prefer The Mings, on account of the Asians)

Dynasty is a pretty subjective word.

If the Red Sox are a Dynasty than so are the Giants and the Cardinals.

Is it possible to have 3 dynasties going on at the same time?

BTW..the NY Football Giants are a Dynasty too.

So are the Chicago Black hawks and the Miami Heat.

They aren't a dynasty but they could theoretically get one started if their farm system lives up to expectations

Clayton that's at least five posts of yours in the last 2 weeks that have made a lot of sense.

You're a dynasty. :suds:

Sweet! I get a prize, right?

'Dynasty' and 'highly popular competitive sports' doesn't really jive

3 in 10 years is nice, but not a dynasty.

Exactly. The San Francisco Giants won two out of three years, but finished out of the playoffs this year. My St. Louis Cardinals have had a great run with two World Series wins and playoff appearances in almost every year over the last decade, but they how have two World Series losses to Boston in that time period. And then you have the Yankees, who will no doubt be back in the postseason sooner rather than later.

Each team has had significant player turnover at least once if not twice during that timeframe as well. So yeah, it's a bit tough to define a dynasty.

3 championships in 10 years is a dynasty.

They won their division only twice in those 10 years.

Only a year ago, they lost 90+ and finished dead last.

An impressive feat to go from worst to first in 1 year, no argument, but not even close to a dynasty.

Wouldn't call it a dynasty (not enough division titles), but they're pretty damn close IMO. Regardless, it's been a very good decade for Sox fans.

Only seven losing seasons since 1966. Pretty impressive.

If the Red Sox hadn't had an INCOMPETENT manager last year last night's win might have been their FOURTH
World Championship in 10 years!

Dynasty or not it's been a very enjoyable run. And with Farrell managing it should continue.

GO RED SOX!
