The late 80's - 90's the NBA was at it's peak. So many good players I could go on and on.

Just a different, more physical game back then. Not as many whistles. Better product.

Sooooo many players. How about a prime Xavier "X" McDaniel for the freakin Sonics?

Basketball was so damn good back then.

"But they didn't play D back then" - Leroy :L

Anthony Mason.. Can you imagine guys like Durant and some of these other "soft shooters" trying to go to the rack in the 80's/90's? Hammered. NO flagrant either. That's the way it was.

NO defense? Why did the Bad boys win 2 in a row? Please. Maybe the Lakers outscored everyone in the 80's, but the 90's it was Chicago lockdown city! Pippen, Jordan, Rodman - only team with 3 first team all defense.

I have to meet this Leroy.

In his prime, the only thing that could stop Shaq was a team smart enough to tackle him every time he got the ball down low and rebound the bricks clanking off the backboard from the charity stripe

The night Shaq scored 61 points, he predicted it before the game. It was a Clippers home game that night so he asked them for extra tickets for his family and friends. They told him no. He was pissed, so he told them he will take it out on them on the court. Boom, he dropped 61 on them and told them to don't ever tell him no again. I just learned this from espn. I always thought he was motivated that game because it was his birthday that night.

Tony Allen would've been a monster in the 80s

LBJ is under those guys. By career end might hit top 10. 8th is the highest I think.

My Honorable Mentions would be: Shaq, Moses, Kobe, Lebron. I think thats probably where the list of great players ends and then you start getting into the Isiah Thomases, Barkleys and Dirks of the world.

I didn’t post at the time but it’s interesting to see how most of us didn’t even have Lebron in the top 10 less than seven years ago.

Time to kill while waiting for a Woj Bomb so here’s mine as of August 2021

1. Jordan
2. Lebron
3. Kareem
4. Magic
5. Kobe
6. Shaq
7. Duncan
8. Bird
9. Wilt
10. Olajuwon

Yeah, that is pretty crazy.

I would have for sure.

Already had a stronger resume than quite a few on listed with 2 rings and multiple MVPs. And still in his prime.

But I get it. Impossible to rate current players against retired players. I think KD has a pretty good shot of cracking top 10 at some point. Maybe Giannis too.

Once you get past the top 4, there are a lot of guys with pretty comparable resumes.
