Unfortunately Larry Scott. He'll do whatever the Big 10 does.

Can't wait to see him go with the schools looking to cut money as they've said.

Yeah, per capita, the deaths in California have actually been really low.

I can't speak to much on UCLA. But I know USC has a plan in place.

This whole thing is weird. State of California just released their guidelines for fall sports to hopefully continue...on the same day that it's said that the B1G is likely to cancel their season.

Bu...bu...but... WHAT will all those "Players United Whatchamacallits" do IF their big (and only) stage to protest on is pulled out from underneath them??? Can't protest or go on strike if there is NO season. heh heh :heh:

He needs to be replaced

He should’ve been replaced when we got our television contract. If not then, when he moved headquarters into a building that is about 5 times what it should be but he likes shinny things, or when he calls into a game at halftime and has to warn a coach that his band is too loud. He has to have done something positive for Presidents and Chancellors to keep him even though he is wasting their money and his big plan is to turn the Pac 12 into a corporation and sell stock.

I get what they are doing but they literally have no leverage. Whether they play or don’t schools get the money. If they sit there out they have no tape for scouts to do their job on them. IMO all of their social stuff is just garbage as hey look at me, I’m doing something. Even though at least the two Cougs involved have been proven to be Jussie Smollet.

Agreed he should have been fired for coming up with that piss poor TV contract.

I could see what his intent was owing all of their content but you can’t do the two things at once. Either he needed to go the Netflix streaming type service route or go cable and do a partnership with ESPN and Fox. Instead they chose to own all of their content but create channel with it that 1/3 of homes can’t get it and have ESPN and Fox tell them they are the bottom rung of content on their networks. Was it UW that was preempted for tractor racing? He needed to pick a lane and instead tried riding down the middle and cost the universities multi millions in revenue.

Let alone his great scheme of offering Colorado a spot in the conference and then trying for the Big 12 South except Baylor which the Texas legislature wouldn’t allow to happen. Reverse that order and we are the Pac 16 and would’ve dictated to ESPN and Fox what days and times we would be playing.

Wouldn't surprise me if tractor racing moved in front of a UW game. I get to see probably 7 UW games a year and only the Oregon game would be shown in Jersey on one of the primetime spots on ABC and 2 others on Fox primetime being WSU for the Apple Cup and one of the OOC games. The other 4 games are the Pac at night games that start at freakin 11pm and I hate it. I hope for a blow out so I can get in bed at least by 1:30 in the morning.

And this IMO is why Larry Scott should’ve been fired because he didn’t choose a late. Pac 12 after dark blows. Usually they turn out to be good game but stands are never full and most fans of schools are already passing out by the 4th quarter. Or getting relegated to the Pac 12 network that games go long so you don’t see the kickoff. I get not wanting to go up against the SEC but there is zero Larry Scott allowed Fox to choose Big 12 games over Pac 12 games or ESPN choosing ACC games over Pac 12 games (at the time the contract was signed). The only thing I agree with is people in the Pac 12 offices should be taking a massive pay cuts. Not to the players but reimburse the schools who were promised X by Larry Scott and barely got Z.

See, that's his biggest down fall was by not going up against the SEC/Big 12/B10. If he showcased the Pac, all the schools would have a chance at recruiting better talent from other areas of the country besides the west coast and a few Texas kids. Maybe Oregon could have snagged a couple more 5 Star recruits that could have put them over the top for a Natty. Yet sadly everyone east of Oklahoma doesn't see these schools play since they're on so late and yes they are on the radar but in the end choose the Bamas, Clemson, OSU etc of the worlds.

They aren't going to fire Larry, those PAC presidents just got a loan to cover it's losses for no sports this fall and next spring. They don't want to deal with a potential lawsuit, hell most of those presidents would be happy if there were no more major sports.

BTW the Texas legislators didn't stop Texas plus 4 to go to the PAC in 2011. ESPN and Fox did, and even then, Texas asked Larry if they could bring the LHN in with them and he said no and that's where it died. Baylor could sue all it wanted, but you had over half the conference leaving, that suit was DOA.

Larry should have allowed Texas to bring it's LHN. The conference would be in a better spot just off the tier 1 and 2 deals with Texas/ou.. the PAC network would be carried from coast to coast on all cable and satellite companies even with Texas tier 3 tied with LHN.

How did they not? Baylor was the sticking point to everything I saw. The LHN was the issue with Texas A&M and Nebraska is everything I remember.

Baylor could sue all it wanted, hell they were suing aggy and mizzu for imploding the conference itself. Aggy was leaving and they got an ok from the SEC, but they didn't want to look like they were tampering so they initially said no til it was certain once nebraska and Co were gone. LHN was just an excuse. Did you know that Dodds went to Beebe about a conference channel? Nebraska wasn't interested in it.. He then went to aggy to pitch a Texas channel that would carry both schools, they said no too. But as soon as ESPN gave them a boatload, that was the final straw?

I have no clue, I just don’t remember the LHN being an issue. All I remember was Baylor but the conference already accepted Colorado. The NW AD’s flew to California to have an emergency meeting, and at least from what I recall it was to back out of the Colorado and to allow Baylor in. I could be completely wrong but that just how I recall things.

But damn, what a hire Coach Rolo is. In his first year he leads his team to tying for a conference championship.
