Hey guys, no one has mentioned much about Elvis but me. I am worried he may be injured and not saying much about it. He has gone 0-8 the last two games and BA is below the bottom of the ocean. It is totally unlike him to be in this kind of slump. Any comments?
They could try benching him for a week.

I do wonder what it would do for the rest of the club, if they took a tough stance on Odor and either cut him or traded him. Of course, at this point a trade would require us eating a huge portion of his contract. Maybe that would get Elvis' attention.

maybe Elvis is the problem. I was looking at the roster today and I noticed something.

Elvis, Odor, and chirinos are all from Venezuela. They are also all infielders. They have also contributed pretty much nothing this season.

I heard on yesterday’s broadcast about how the rangers “ couldn’t wait” to get chirinos back and he “fits in so well”.

maybe we need to break up this Venezuelan gang moving forward. Guys are getting too comfortable and they’re just not producing.

Who would ever want Odor. Seems like a trade would be impossible. Cutting him is the best solution but really don't think it will happen. Odor is the single largest problem/mistake the organization has ever encountered.

Benching Elvis might wake him up. Something needs to happen.

You may have a point with getting to comfortable. Being from Venezuela has no merit. These guys are wealthy and unless they play for pride then they have little to be concerned about. Elvis is not a guy who would sit back and take advantage of a good thing. Odor is another story. Can't figure Chirinos out. We have seen him play well in the past. Not great but average play.

He has some pop but teams could run on him all day. My problem is not so much with him as it is why play Mathis and have Trevino sitting and not competing at the MLB level. Seems to have good ABs and a good arm.

chirinos problem is it looks like he has nothing left. All he does is strikeout horribly or hit into double plays.

Seeing is believing and thus far I have seen nothing in three years that makes me believe anything will change. Having said that, I truly hope it will change for the better.

I know some people hate it, but the odor talk is totally necessary right now.

our pitching has actually been pretty good with the exception of a few terrible bullpen pieces who were pitching because of injuries.

we are losing because our lineup can’t put up the standard 3 runs a game that you’d expect from a typical major league offense. Odor, Elvis, and chirinos are the ones really hurting us right now.

At least we don’t have to see chirinos ground out 4 times today.

Watching Odor and he looks out of control. Just swinging as hard as he can at pitches that he has no chance of hitting. Too bad we can't send him down for instructional purposes.

Regardless, of what the Rangers do at the trade deadline, this is going to be a very intriguing year for mid-season trades in baseball. Instead of two months left after the deadline there will only be one, so an acquisition has less time to impact the regular season, tending to favor the buyers. Of course, that could be alleviated some by striking a deal earlier. Then there is the effect of an expanded postseason which would tend to create a seller's market. Of course, there is always the possibility of trading away prospects, and then having the season cancelled a few days later. Although, the farther we go into the season the less that seems likely. There could be a greater interest in guys who have contracts beyond this year with that possibility in mind though.

There are a lot of different considerations this year. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Just looking at team stats and no wonder we are loosing games. Who is the hitting coach? It's shameful looking at the BA's.

blame Daniels and company for not bringing in some decent hitters.

now we’re running out a lineup with 5-6 awful hitters.

Or maybe he is out of sorts during these times and with family. Hopefully Tejeda gets a start
