I have to say that I'm annoyed how they call these qualifying round games and seeding games actual playoff games. If you have to qualify, then you're not yet a playoff team. I'm sorry, but round one is when the playoffs actually start, for me.

What we're watching right now, while exciting in it's own right, it's not yet true playoff hockey because that involves a best of 7 game series.

Very satisfying victory. This team’s depth is unreal. Essentially coasted to a win today and they had Hart, Patrick, Lindblom, JvR, Raffl, and Ghost on the shelf. Outrageous.

How scorching hot are Kevin Hayes and Scott Laughton right now!? Also, the immediate chemistry between youngsters NAK and Farabee on yet another line cannot be denied. Our depth, skill and youth on the blue line is unreal. 24 year old Sanheim completely undressed Holtby in front of his cage for what turned out to be the game winning goal. Even Elliott looks sharp, although I'd say he's clearly the backup, but it's nice to have two goalies that look good.

Aside from all of this, it feels like our team defense is very strong and whoever we have in net will not be truly tested very often. Our top line can shut anyone down and yet could probably also explode for a bunch of goals without any notice. We dominated in faceoffs today, as we usually do. The penalty killing looks great.

I'd say all that is left is to get the puck to the net on the power play and see just where we are at against Tampa, who seem to also be playing at a higher level than these other teams.

This feels like the medal round of playoff seeding now. We play Tampa for the gold and Boston/Washington play for the bronze.

Actually, I think Holtby played well in this game and yet he had zero chance on all three of his goals against. It's a beautiful thing for our beloved Flyers. NAK and Farabee would've teamed up for a couple goals if not for spectacular saves by Holtby.

Laughton looks like a young Richards....sweet. He's coming around. Who again said G and Jake are shit on here? Who again said that the young guys are crap? I'm too drunk to look up those old arguments but would love to see if now.... Hayes crap signing and who needs vet dmen about now? Ridiculous.

I mean, you can probably take an educated guess and be spot on...Lol

Look at what elite level coaching and an infusion of some veterans has done for the young core of this team!! I feel like confidence has a lot to do with it. We expect to win games now, no matter the level of competition, and when we give up a goal, we come back at you that much harder. There is no sulking or giving up with this team.

Yes, JvR is a bit of a bust right now, but with our depth we have the luxury of not necessarily having to rely on his production. Meanwhile, Vigneault can push his buttons until he's motivated and we get something out of him later on.

It wasn’t a masterpiece but a very technically sound win.

Farabee looked good and NAK looked like He got a new life without the anchor.

Yeah baby! It's game day. Hopefully Elliott has a strong game. We win today we lock up at worse the 2 seed. I think we beat the Caps 4-3. I'll take Provorov for my first goal on the power play.
We locked up the 2 seed and 4-3 was pretty close. Bring on TB baby!!!

So after watching this team over the last year, I would say a lot of the struggles were due to poor coaching. Seeing as you have the same players doing what they are this year is almost night and day. Hayes signing was a far better deal than I anticipated he has proven me wrong about his work ethic. The rest of the vets have bought in and are playing 100% better then the last previous years. Finally better coaching proved to be the cure, who knew?

Nice to see we came back from a long break and came flying out of the gates. This team gets better the more they play.

The style of play right now is formatted for the playoffs. Team defense low scoring games and make the best of our opportunities.
