Too be fair here but what has Paxton proven as of yet? Sure he’s got a no no, hasn’t won 20 games, no all star appearance.
I m not saying the trade was one sided to the Ms but James still can’t make it though a whole season healthy

James had massive “value” because of his ceiling. He may never reach his ceiling but that is what trades are based off primarily. It is trading value for value. Dealing a guy who has ace stuff. That kind of has been the issue with essentially every GM and especially Jerry. His Cano and Diaz deal is the exception and could potentially redeem his dealings, IMO just in terms of value.

Sorry....but every time I see that name I just laugh and shake my head. Everything in Seattle has just gotten so F'd up. 2020 strong.

When the fans are nicknamed the "krackheads" it'll be an appropriate nickname given the state of this city.

Back to back blowouts due to bad starts from starting pitchers that are supposed to be key players in our rebuild. wonderful

I don't really have much faith in Justin Dunn or Justus Sheffield as starters at this point. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that Hancock, Gilbert and Kirby end up being legit with Kikuchi eventually figuring everything out.

In the end it's going to be a while before this team resembles anything like a contender unfortunately.

4-8, on pace for 20-40 which seems pretty fair. Hopefully thats a top 3 pick. Im pretty confident this team wont win much, they are gonna be underdogs almost every game. The final score just wont matter that much, especially if its guys in the bullpen that wont be here next year getting beat up. Honestly just try and stay healthy

The pitching has been so atrocious it makes the games hard to watch.

As excited as I am about watching some of the younger guys, it's hard to convince myself to continue watching when we're down 5+ runs.

Since nobody has bitched about Servais in a while, I'll start:

I feel like the team really isn't taking the season seriously and this comes down to him. We all know this is a rebuilding season and we have a low ceiling, but I see that the team has the mentality that they should try/expect to win every game.

Also the other night when Servais left Zac Grotz out there when he couldn't even throw a strike. Didn't even call to warm anyone up. I get that there is limited availability, but what does that say to players that if you don't have it, you get to struggle? The probability of coming back was very low, but you have to at least try.

LOL You must have missed a few of my posts.....I have clearly stated my thoughts about Scotty and his lack of abilities to handle the pitching staff and yes, I agree with you the way he's handling the managing of this team definitely does not give the right message to the rest of the team.

got an ugly win and my whole thing with the pitching is this guys like Kikuchi, Walker, and Graveman are all expendable. The original plan was to have Logan Gilbert pitch the second half the season and have him start and Kirby the following season so by 2023 there will be a 5 man rotation of 1st round picks of Sheffield, Dunn, Gilbert, Kirby and Marco with Hancock on the way up to take the slot of anyone whos slacking. Also by then Kelenic will be up and Rodriguez should be on his way.

Sounds like a solid plan other than who will be playing 3rd at that time but starting off the rebuild seeing Sheffield and Dunn struggle like this does make me feel good. Of course you can only judge them by what they do by the end of the season and not the first two starts. Plenty of cases of pitchers not doing well the first year but explode at some point. Lastly White needs to slow down with the strikeout good god its like 50% now whenever he takes an AB

Sheffield I don’t have any faith in as a starter but Dunn I definitely won’t give up on. I am bias but of him though in the Futures game last year when they were all raving about him. I wasn’t overall impressed but every person there was so he has to have untapped talent. Now whether we have the right people in place to bring that out is another question.

Looks like Marco is our new, "stop the losing skid" pitcher...

I haven't lost faith in Sheffield... He hasn't even pitched much in the ML yet so I can't give up on that guy... He's had some great inning so far this year... His control has gotten him in trouble... His stuff is great...

I think it’s a little early to be calling out who’s going to become a starter at pitching for the Ms it’s a process and they have to take their lumps, I thought all 6 starters stepped it up this past week from their previous start, even Dunn giving up 3 in the first and settled down.

I know some of you won’t remember this but Randy Johnson sucked when he got here, he took his lumps and found Mr Snappy that made good veteran hitters look foolish

Ok, seen enough, 4-5 games, Evan White is going to win some Gold Gloves, great saves over there.

I have made mention of him some time ago, regarding how he didn't want to give his starters so many innings to start with, hinting due to health concerns.

I smelled bullshit somewhere in that article, because he was pretty much misguiding the pitchers well before this season started.

Had it been any other team in the league, they would instantly take him aside and ask him what the hell he's thinking, if they don't toss him out on his ass first.

But, this is Mariner management, where no matter who's in the front office, performance means SQUAT.

Vogelbach is just not seeing the pitches. When he does see them, he's not doing much of anything with them. First half of last season must have been a fluke for Voggie cuz he hasn't done jack since the AS break.

I think him and Mallex Smith should be at the top of the cut list, both guys were on the big roster last year and neither of them is showing any signs of helping this offense

A pathetic 60 game showing should be enough to rid of Servais. If he somehow keeps his job than this franchise won't even contend for a WC anytime soon.

I don't even wanna think about how many losses Servais has directly caused with his poor management and bad decision making. An MLB organization concerned about winning would have canned him several years ago.

We are stuck with Servais as long as ownership keeps Dipoto as the GM. The so called "rebuild" is just another one of ownership's way to keep fans (the ones who are left) filling their pockets. Dipoto hired Servais and keeps him on the books. That should tell us all just how sharp Dipoto really is. Jerry had his issues with the Angels and Seattle hired him giving him the chance to bring along his "yes" man (previous head scout with NO mgr. experience) to be his manager. Servais is NOT manager material and Jerry just doesn't get it.....and the OTJ training hasn't worked. The "rebuild" just buys Jerry and ownership more time to suck the life (and money) out of the remaining M's fans. Baseball seasons continue to come and go and the M's keep setting a new record year after year for a pro sports team that never makes it. Seattle Mariner fans deserve better!!!....an ownership group that is willing to invest the money and commitment to hire the professionals who will make it happen.
