I read this differently than others I guess.
Some guy pulls off a heist. Coincidentally, the Giant's rings were part of the loot. He happens to say "they didn't deserve them" and this becomes a Pat's board topic?
I'd get it if they left some of the loot behind because the victims "deserved" to keep their stuff. I'd get it if they knew the rings were in there and arranged the heist because "they didn't deserve them".
As far as the movies goes it's been done before... Ben Affleck did one call "The Town". The Showtime series "City on a hill" had elements of it. Maybe not exact with the cat burglar aspects but there's nothing really novel in the article.
