I'm pleased with Anderson's readiness for the season - appears to have added some pop - and concentrated on his D (still has his throwing errors).

Mazara may surprise - he appears to be hitting to all fields and from pitching on either side.

Moncada is needed back - as the 3rd base back up seems very thin.

Dunning looks very sharp.

Giolito is pitching well and showing leadership on the team (Kopech remarks were perfect).

Louis Robert - has an incredible body - and will be everything everyone expects and more in the field on the bases and at bat. His range in CF is so good the corner outfielders can pretty much guard the lines - very impressive.

From what I can see the emotional tenor of this team is top notch.

Some optimism that Moncada will be ready for opening day. That's good.

Not great that his first week will be him sort of getting his legs underneath him.

Hopefully - he will have enough antibodies to last him the season.

Guys just have to respect the rules put in place and not be careless when they leave the ball park. If they can manage that for two months - it should be fine. Very doable.

Jimmy Lambert got an opportunity to pitch and struck out Robert, Abreu, Encarnacion and Jimenez consecutively. I'll bet that got White Sox brass attention.

LOL, I'll bet that did indeed. I don't know too much about Lambert. His name was never bandied about that often whenever there have been discussions and articles regarding the top White Sox prospects. Supposedly he has some good stuff and was on the rise in the organization prior to his TJ injury. If he's good to go, that's yet another big arm in the Sox stable ready to be unleashed.

I did read my first "Mazara's all fixed now - we can all relax" article.

Interesting Dynamic:

Keuchel and Grandal - just really taking over as leaders on this team and their 1st year White Sox.

Here's a stupid question:

How often will Grandal and Coop agree on how the pitchers should pitch? Are they smart enough not to overlap? On the other hand - they may compliment each other enough to produce a result better than the sum of its parts.

Rodon is looking sharp he may force himself into the starting rotation, but I think the Sox will rotate 6 starters to start this schedule off.

Luis Robert is 22 years old - and you can tell, from the buzz, this guy is sitting at the threshold of a legendary career. He may become the greatest investment the White Sox have ever made. I hope so, but what a pleasure it will be to watch it unfold.

I more than understand Mingo's enthusiasm. And if it was just spouting off typical homerism, we could chalk it off to buying into some self-imposed hype. But just about everyone on the baseball planet - from writers to GMs to scouts to fellow players are all predicting the same fortunes for this kid's career. The microscope will be focused on him thruout this shortened season.

Rodon broke the "no crying in baseball" rule (and it was an exhibition game). ;)

Overall, I was pleased with his performance last night and I'm happy to say that I was wrong about him not being ready to make the rotation at the start of the season. But prior to his injured past and of course now post-injury, Rodon still has that penchant for dishing out dingers. If he can get that under control, he's got a solid career ahead of him.

Well Mookie got signed to an extension. Mookie will make more money than Eloy, L. Robert, Grandal and Moncada put together each year. Would you trade Jimenez, Robert, Grandal and Moncada for Mookie?

i'm guessing many would make that trade (not me). 2 players with one decent year under their belts, one with nothing under his belt and an aging catcher? for a superstar?

The point of having all those great steal deals (assuming these guys pan out)...is so that we have money to actually make a Mookie Betts type signing. So...

Carson Fulmer was picked up by the Tiggers - the kind of move the White Sox would have made 2-3 years ago.
