Why would the word Thug be offensive? I have seen many people called a Thug, white and black skinned. If someone is being a Thug then the shoe fits then wear it. The prime example I remember of seeing a thug playing football was Marcus Vick, not because he was black, but because of stomping people laying on the ground.

If this is directed at me, this is typically a term used towards black kids, whether it fits or not. Ironic that your example is of a black player. I’m hard press to come up with an example where a white player was called a thug for doing something similar.

I think he was characterized as being aggressive, having a reved up motor, being highly competitive. Not a fan of what Vick did. Definitely a BS move.

Are you wearing a mask when you can’t effectively social distance? If memory serves me and without going through previous posts, didn’t you pack a cooler full of food so you didn’t have to go to a restaurant? I was in Detroit last week. No worries with the travel. Contacted the hotel in advance to see what was required of me and whether their restaurant was open. The only change, getting approval by my company and the customer. It appears wearing a mask is beneficial which is a mild inconvenience.

Amazing how NYC is today compared to most of the Southern states who lived their lives. This wasn’t media driven, it was politically driven. I would love to go to the wedding in Texas at the end of August, but I’ll have to wait and see if the bozos, Governor and Lt. Governor, get their acts together. Ask the Houston and Austin medical facilities how ‘living your life’ is working for them. Same with Florida. DeSantis looks lost. I hope Disney’s experiment works as it will possibly provide a blueprint for others, maybe schools, to use. The World and NYC gave the US the blueprint to minimize this. The medical field has learned a lot since January.

Not sure where you got your TB numbers from, but this is what I found. Don’t you go pulling that Poppy Math out before the basketball season. You’re only allow to use it after the football season until the end of the NCAA Tournament.

I indeed packed a cooler, there was no choice, most restaurants other than fast food were closed, very little choice involved. I am not wearing a mask, as they are completely ineffective, put your mask of choice on, run a piece of sandpaper across some sheetrock mud, or use some spray paint, take off the mask and go look in the mirror. Sanding dust and paint particles are many times larger than viruses. Are you one of those proudly wearing a mask as you drive alone in your car?

I agree, I can't remember any white football players to call a thug, but I only remember one black one and that Marcus Vick will always be a Thug in my book. I remember many thugs that were white in my life but they would not be known here.

So this thing everyone has about the mask....no one and I mean no one has said that Masks will stop the Virus but it is PPE that will slow the spread....and just common sense would tell you that ..if you aint sneezing or coughing on anyone...just like the common cold...chances are the ain't going to catch it from you!

Thanks for the TB link. The world is approaching 600,000 people dying from this in about 7 months versus 1.5 million who died globally of TB in 2018.

To answer your question: No I do not wear a mask while driving nor do I wear gloves because it does not penetrate your hands. People who are not used to wearing personal protective equipment do not understand decontamination protocols. I don’t wear a mask while working in the yard or in the house. I do wear one where required and will wear one when I come in close proximity to others I don’t know. This is all out of respect for others and such a minor inconvenience for me. So, no I don’t cower in fear of this virus, but I wish others would pitch in so all of us can enjoy life.

Remember, Poppy, the virus may be as small as you say, but I believe the primary mode of transmitting this virus is basically through spit. While some of your saliva gets through certain types of masks, it minimizes the amount. I’m not sure why people take a negative stance towards wearing a mask has been proven to work globally at slowing this down. Hopefully there will be a vaccine to better control it. This is going to be another virus that will kill “X” number of people yearly, just like what we call “the common flu”. I just don’t think now is the time to go backwards after coming off a shutdown. CA, FL, and TX are facing some big decisions. Also, I want you around. Who else is going to do Poppy math for me? Better yet, I’m waiting for those plans for all of us to get together for that beer.

I agree, Marcus Vick was an ass. Could still be an ass for all I know. I say ass, you say thug.

C’mon, tell us. When my work travels open up, I’m going to have to stop in Winchester.

I remember when I was in 7th grade, this white thug Brian G. he was a week from turning 18 and I was 11 kicked me as I walked by him, I wasn't taking no shit, kicked him back and it was over I was crying, about 4 years later in High school he didn't want to go down that path again....

I remember another White thug, can't remember his name but remember he had Glen K. pushed against the wall in HS, kept calling him a pussy, shoving him, people standing around watching. Glen kept telling him he needed to quit, the next thing you know, Glen grabbed the back of hi coat, pulled it over his head where he couldn't swing and fucked him up, I still remember Glen running to the principals office hollering HELP HELP!!! he kept on and I started hitting him and now he can't breath, deserved the fucker right and all his punk friends.

I can go on and on, about the thugs I grew up with in the 80's, and the Mafia thugs that would roll my friend on Long Island..... When I use the term Thug it has nothing to do with race it has to do with being mean and violent

So I am going to throw this old tired argument out there again just to see if NOW there is a change of opinion....and I just had this convo with some neighbors...

As we are watching the football Power 5 conferences and of course the networks trying to figure out how to salvage any part of this season....no matter what ...because "There is too much Money at Stake"...

So at the cost of the players safety and possible life they are willing to sacrifice peoples sons at any cost for the sake of revenue?....and what do the players get in return.? A scholarship for the sacrifice?

You know there are kids that are at risk with pre-exiting conditions....someone WILL DIE if they play...with the number of players the odds themselves tell you this..

For DAD and the rest....does that really make sense ?...your still good with this setup?

Was this a question?

It seems like you're asking so that you can get a pat on the back for your pre-wrapped answer and your hoping that some will chime in and tell you how noble you are.

NOT ONE SINGLE PLAYER is going to be forced or have a gun to their head to play.

Like you never done this before. Why not gloat if things are going your way, at least so far? This question/statement is a reboot of another thread.

Blah, blah, blah... If you've got 8 kids and are working at McDonalds you're not too bright. I take it that you shared that sentiment from experience.

My point stands, you weren't asking a question, but rather trying to prop yourself up as some sort of noble person. Meanwhile, you're just another dipshit wanting to tell people how to live their lives.

Carry on, Karen.
