I can't believe I actually entered an airband contest at a local redneck bar doing this song back in the mid-eighties. I was the singer and we're all lucky we made it out of there alive that night.

I emailed David Thomas - the real singer of Pere Ubu - a bunch of years ago and told him about what we did. His reply back was, "that was either very brave or very foolhardy".

True story.

Yeah they did it on "Live! One Plus One" too.

I need to go down to my parents' basement and find that vinyl. I didn't have a huge collection as a kid but there's some good ones. "Out of Step" should be down there too.

edit: haha I just clicked, I didn't realize the one you'd posted was actually the "One Plus One" version

77-83 close enough. They weren't really on the seen much until middle of 80, great live band. :suds:
