That O-line and some of the other O-players will change than what has been posted. Expect the guard and center position to be different when the season starts. Allen is just not the answer at Center. Move Blythe back to Center and insert the kid from Clemson at guard or Edwards will do way better.

Apparently there is a growing opinion that the Anchrum kid from Clemson and the Cabral kid from ASU are complete steals in this year's draft and UDFA after the draft. Both have a very good chance of making this year's opening day roster. In fact Anchrum is getting more and more evaluations to suggest he may force the Rams to move Blythe back to Center cutting Allen and then be inserted at Right Guard next to Havenstein or Evans. Anchrum may be that good.

Plus, Anchrum has been working on the weights this off-season with a guy named AD. He has bulked-up into the 330lb range and at 6'2, he is def a road grader we need in the middle. Say good-bye to Allen. What a waste of a draft pick.

That is good news yes, we'll still need to see how he does on the field though with the added bulk.

The Chiefs, who are re-arranging their QB unit, just cut undrafted FA rookie QB Shea Patterson. The Rams should bring this guy in for a camp visit.

Ramswire is reporting that Andrew Whitworth and his entire family have Covid-19. I say, so what. Go to your doctor and get two treatments with 100% efficacy. Those are: Hydroxychloroquine with zinc, anticoagulants, and antibobiotics or Budesonide administered with a Nebulizer machine. Both have shown 100% cure rates by numerous doctors.

Was checking Rams wire today, and there is an interesting article that the stat heads have produced a new metric to determine an Olines effectiveness at creating yards for its RBs. Surprisingly the league avg was 4.1 but our Oline had an expected yards per carry of 4.31 although the team avg was only 3.7. Here's a snippet of the article.

"The Rams surprisingly ranked ninth in the NFL despite finishing 26th in rushing yards and 18th in attempts last season. The offensive line had an expected yards per carry (xYPC) of 4.31 compared to the actual team average of only 3.7 yards per carry.

Here’s a snippet of Next Gen Stats’ evaluation of the Rams from last season:

The Rams should really be commended for landing on this list, especially after losing Joe Noteboom early in the season and needing a replacement so badly, they swung a deal (which could end up being a steal) with the Browns for Austin Corbett in the middle of the season. This might also be the most damning piece of evidence related to Todd Gurley’s future, as we covered above with Atlanta. The league average in xYPC was 4.18 last season, so the Rams’ mark of 4.31 is nothing to scoff at. Yet, the Rams weren’t able to break 4 yards per carry with Gurley (and friends) in the backfield. "

I hope the RB by committee approach works.

Yep Jermaine, the evidence such as you presented is starting to illuminate just how bad Gurley had become and that the Corbett trade and the O-line was still doing their jobs every game. Gurley may do better in Atlanta for a half a season or so but sooner than later, the Falcons are going to see the real Gurley, the one whose career is just about done.

yeah, and for me the concern is the collective group as a whole; if Gurley wasn't producing then what about the other backs in the group? The team avg was 3.7 which was pretty damning to say the least.

Yep Jermaine. When that sort of thing is existing on a professional sports team, IT can become a cancer that spreads through the team and I bet that is one of the many factors that contributed to our demise in 2019. It is also a significant contributing factor to Genius boy cleaning house on a smaller scale.

To win a championship, ya have to have everyone on the same page nearly every waking moment while they are together. Otherwise, somebody like Belicheat who has done this for a very long time with maximum success steps and hands you your ass.

There was a lot of disgruntled players in 2019 and that info is beginning to leak out. McVay did the right thing by getting rid of these jackasses who think they deserve to be paid big money to then go out and drink and party the night before a game something akin to what Goff did most of last year.

Our O-line as it stands after Game 1: From R to L; Havenstein, Corbett, Blythe, Noteboom, Whitworth. These guys quietly played pretty well for the first game. Blythe really looked good at Center and the rush was neutralized up the middle between Noteboom, Blythe, and Corbett. Pass protection was very good. They do have to work on their run blocking a bit.

Speaking of... ...Colin Herd stated this morning on a local sports talk show that he considers McVay back in 2018 form and that he quietly has a running back that is a beast. That being one Malcolm Brown. I think the Brown/Akers duo is going to get the majority of the Running game snaps. Brown just hammers you and Akers can explode out of nowhere. These two should really be interesting in the Run game.

Henderson is going to be the odd-man out unless he gets on his horse and really starts to have some consistency. That is a tall order to establish consistency when your touches are on the down even after one game. Knowing McVay, he could change everything-up on any given Sunday now that he knows about the Jumbo.

Herd also stated that he believes that McVay has one of the better set of TEs and WRs and he thinks they are as good as the Chiefs' TEs right now. Intersting comments from the Herd-man.

I think I found a trade partner as things in Denver have gone from worse to disastrous.

I think I found a trading partner. Elway would jump at a chance to take Goff and his monster of a contract. And since the Broncos are going to finish in the top ten in the coming draft, we could get a host of draft picks to get to Trevor Lawrence. Maybe.
