If that wasn't from Universal themselves I would say that looks fake as shit.

hell, hasn't avatar had like 8 sequels announced for the last decade? i'd wait on the 2nd's box office before announcing a third, but perhaps they'll just shoot it both together.
i mean they ended the last one heavily suggesting the granddaughter was going to take over the role.

Horror movies are pretty cheap to make and usually bring in a good return if it’s a brand people know so I think it’s ok. And with them releasing in back to back years I’d say that’s pretty likely. I know movies don’t take a long time to make anymore but it would still be smart of them to do that.

i get that and the first did alright. i just didn't care for it at all. i'm also thinking back to the rob zombie remake where the first wasn't horrible, but the second was a complete shit show that prevented any future there.

That was more on Zombie’s part because he was done and wanted to make sure they wouldn’t force him to do another one. But I get what you mean though. Halloween seems to be the big name Horror franchise they reboot the most.

i didn't know that. so he purposely made that film terrible? i still can't get past making loomis some PR whore. as mentioned before, the good thing about horror is it doesn't require a lot of capital to make a good one. that said, they can be few and far between. i do try and curb my expectations based on the level of production values available (still think the cgi in the last IT looked terrible, particularly the slideshow where he comes out and the dance at the end) i was so hyped for that movie, saw it in korea before it came out in the states, so disappointed with the final results. the only improvement for me was the creepiness with bev and her dad.

The reboot was trash. Worst writing I’ve seen in a horror reboot.

Compared to the original...no comparison but I love the Halloween movies so much...KEEP MAKING THEM!! I mean if they plan to remake Halloween 4, can it get any worse? Maybe they could change it and make it somewhat interesting lol

Was 4 the one that had absolutely nothing to do with the series?

Three was the one that had nothing to do with anything else in the series.

Damn it was 3...so it looks like the remake is in the works. I would have to think the storyline will be changed for the 3 remake bc that was brutal. I just remember 4...it looked like his mask was about to fall off at any second.

I struggle with how bad that reboot was though... I mean my God... at least try to make it seem like you’re trying to make a story that has some common sense.

but yea... of course I’ll keep watching them if they keep putting them out. Maybe I just won’t keep paying to see them in theaters if that’s the only effort they’ll put forth.

Which reboot? I liked Rob Zombie's reboot but his second one was horrible. The last one they did didn't really leave enough of an impression for me to remember and doubt I'd go out of my way to watch this one.

The 2018 reboot... I wanted so badly to like it. The look & feel was awesome and it paid homage to the original many times, but the logical flaws were so absurd.

But problem is the Halloween franchise isn’t coherent with any unlike other slasher franchises. It is why you make clear who the killer is and why he is, then just make cheap movies that bring in revenue. Rob Zombie had a chance to make a coherent Halloween universe but supposedly John Carpenter wasn’t a fan of his after the 1st one, which is why I think Zombie made his sequel dogshit.
