Vacation Time

I've decided to take some time off from the Hoop. When I came on today 19 of of the lead threads were Politic Forum threads and most of it vile hatred.

When I first came on to the Hoop from CBS, this was a great place to discuss anything from Baseball to Sulky racing. Now it's mostly a hate filled diatribe. Even the sports threads are getting ugly.

I'll be dedicating most of my time to finishing my latest novel and completing a book of short stories that I've been writing.. I've got five novels sitting on my computer edited and ready to go and a sixth half written.

See ya when the NFL season kicks off......

What sports are actually still going?

This is a sports site, so we have little news. Most of us are waiting to see if there will be a next season at all.

After the No Fans rulings, we are waiting for the other shoe to drop, No Games.

Your observations about the hoop seem familiar across many social media forums. I even see it embedded into my news feeds. I think our piece of the hoop has stayed mostly free of it outside each of us sprinkling in our opinions where they naturally ooze out. Most of what's out there is pure propaganda and it's a shame that most people fall for it.

I avoid politics like the plague. It's nearly impossible to completely ignore it but I do a pretty good job of it. I ahven't seen a single political post here.

As far as the politics, hard to avoid sometimes but mostly safe here on the Patriots board.
I'll be around, mainly because I'm not out and around.....

Honestly, I have pride in my ability to think for myself. I like this board, despite how warped it can be, because most here seem to think for themselves too.

Most people spouting off about politics are spouting someone else's opinion. I laugh because most people treat their politicians like sporting teams... They try to root for a winner instead of what they will do or not do. At least on this board we know exactly who we are rooting for and why.

So much for taking time off. I’d figure if someone started a post and was all dramatic, he’d stick to his word. I don’t care if you are here every day. I just don’t get the attention grabbing thread.

Sometimes there no answer better than the obvious one.

Neither. You asked why BK stomped his feet and stormed off (only to not really storm off). The answer is: Because that's what he does.

Despite my comment above, I have a bit more appreciation for BK than others. He sticks too it and keeps information flowing. There's value to that despite the redundancy or rehashed opinions. It stimulates conversation.
