The Ivy League has canceled their entire football schedule for this fall. I retired this year and finally was going to be able to enjoy football Saturdays unimpeded, and now because of the fucking communist chinese and their virus bioweapon, there most likely won't be ANY college football at all this fall.

I think we will know in three to four weeks if it will happen at all. I wonder if they might do a split season with half the games in the fall and the other half in the spring. That way they could still have the 2021 season. Anyway I have a seven month old black lab at the trainer and at least I know will be out in the grouse, duck, and pheasant field this fall.

Looking for some ideas on how to occupy my Saturdays this fall, once the season has been canceled .

How many of you actually think that they will even play a single snap of football at all? My guess is that this all gets cancelled or postponed eventually. I would be shocked if they played any football at all.

I'm going to hold out hope they do play and the only way I believe it will happen is if there is no fans in the stadium. I believe this Covid 19 flu is over blown at times when it comes to certain age brackets. I would like to know how many people in the age bracket of 18 to 24 who are healthy with no underlining issues have died from Covid and how many needed to be place in a hospital. Those numbers would tell a story that might just tell story which the players need to worry or not. The coaches IMO need to be more concerned then the young men. These coaches may need to be placed in physical bubbles which would be quite the site on the sidelines.

There has been really to much politics pushed into this Virus and not enough logic and true scientific information on this Virus reported. I believe there has been only 30 total deaths in kids 15 and under related to Covid-19 in the United States, with a total of 166 deaths with the normal flu this year with the same demographics. To me this would make sense for kids to be able to go back to school this fall. The school system would need to do more things IMO to protect the teachers.

Death rate for 0-24 is an extreme rarity. It is the 'sky blue' on this chart. which is barely visible because it's riding the baseline. If you click the link, the chart is interactive on the cdc web-page.

Deaths of all ages are way down since April for that matter. IMO there are two possible reasons for that or maybe a combination of the two.

1) The virus gets weaker as it is passed from person to person.
2) The medical community learned how to better treat it.

I personally know 3 people that have had it and all survived.

1) 80 year old male. He and 4 of his colleagues got it back in late April. He had symptoms for a week before being hospitalized for 4 days. He was released back home and got well after another week or so. He retired from the power plant some 20 years ago, but continued working part time as a school bus driver. His wife is 79 and has chronic health conditions, but never had a symptom. She tried to get tested, but was denied when she filled out the questionnaire because she "hadn't traveled and had no symptoms". We can just assume that even though she has chronic health conditions she's asymptomatic. Testing was very limited back then. She would likely qualify for a test now.

2) 55 year old female. She is a grocery store worker. She tested positive in mid-June. She had mild symptoms and returned to work after 2 weeks and testing negative. Her special needs brother (stroke) that lives with her tested negative. She is obese.

3) 58 year old female. She lives in Dallas. Came down with severe symptoms about two weeks ago (fever, aches, etc.). She had been traveling (flights) stateside a lot. She was hospitalized for 1 day last week due to low oxygen levels, but is now back home getting better every day. Her ability to taste and smell have returned. She is obese.

The 80 year old male has smoked cigs since he was in high school.

Both females are heavy, and the 58 year old with the severe symptoms I'd consider obese.

I wish we could have a thread here on the Husker forum to discuss COVID but then it would get labeled "political" and get shut down.

My question is this, would they have Bowl Games? If there is a season how does the bowl game attendance even work? Conference championship games? It's a head scratcher for sure.

As of 1 week ago I was COVID-19 free, I had surgery after testing negative - is that political? :noidea:

I got tested last Friday and got my results back on Sunday. The email said that my test results were probably the best test results they'd ever seen. They were so positive. I mean positive to the negative. I even got extra credit on my results because they came back so good.
