It's weird bc I get a lot of movies on Amazon prime for free, even if it's lower budget which it doesn't look like this is really low budget. I might have to splurge as well...considering I get NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA, NHL MLB, HBO, etc. as well as newer movies for essentially $50/month. I'm a cheap SOB lol
I'm right there with ya. Hell, I'll even pass on $1 RedBox movies lol.

it's available on hulu or SportsHoopla

I have hulu so I would check it out. Only bc it came free with a spotify account. I will say, I hate hulu though. It takes forever to load and bugs out sometimes...maybe it's just me.

Dude, the Hulu app on my Vizio is basically unusable... It'll play for 10-15s at a time and buffer for 30-40s... Rinse & repeat. Not my network connection since that's bitchin fast. Looked into it, my TV's model apparently was discontinued for Hulu's app support lol. Apparently I have to jailbreak the newer app version onto my TV if I wanted to get the bugs worked out. But even then I have ZERO guarantees that it alleviates the buffering issues. There's a bunch of discussions on reddit forum on the Vizio Vs. Hulu saga. Seems like Hulu has terrible support across all devices.

I have to stream Hulu from my laptop & plugged into the TV input to use it.

Yep my internet is freaking fast as well. It tends to work slower on my older tv but overall it's a mess on any tv I've ever watched it on. If you have to use a laptop to watch it...fuck it. Only have it bc it was free anyway...now I know why they offer it free with Spotify LOL

i have mine for free too (through sprint). usually only watch it through my ps4 (directly connected to my internet), but haven't had any issues with it. My tv doesn't have a hulu app, but I've noticed my netflix and prime work much better through the ps4 over the tv app.

Yeah I usually watch it on the tv app. It's a hit or miss but much worse on the older tv

Wrote this in the previous page:
Simple concepts in this movie with ideas we've seen before in previous movies, but the acting in it was definitely the highlight & carried the film. It was a fun movie with lots of gags, but it could have used... more. The gore at the end was great. Could have used more of it during the film. And more explanation for the insane homeowners would have been nice. Unless I missed something, they never explained how or why they were so f*cked in the head.

This is my other option, but Xbox. Haven’t given it a try yet. I’ve got the hdmi cable dangling off the back of my tv always ready to plug the laptop in. Haven’t felt the need to try the Xbox yet. I figure it takes me just as long, if not longer, to fire up the Xbox & open the app than to just open Hulu on the laptop and plug it in.

Watching Indepence Day-saster. From the title, I thought it might be an entertaining spoof. It is not. Played totally straight and it is terrible.

Even worse: No Boobies. :gaah::gaah::gaah:

while i've thrown some new stuff on, i haven't been able to really focus/concentrate on anything new for the most part for a while in this isolation. while i've mostly had community on in the background for the past few months during work, have recently watched/thrown on some repeats.

put poltergeist on last night. mainly watched it in my youth, which was really scary to me at the time. watching it now, i never realized how much humor they threw into it.

Tangina: Help me tie this around my waist.
Diane: What do you think you're doing?
Tangina: I'm going in after her.
Diane: She won't come to you. Let me go.
Tangina: You've never done this before.
Diane: Neither have you.
Tangina: [pause] You're right. You go.

had me on the floor among others.

I don't know if it's the times we're in, but rewatching Doctor Sleep, it just felt really uplifting.

Sinister was just so good because it really hit the right notes. Offered up hints of found footage, while not going full found footage. Also gave true crime vibe in it's early stages and had a nice touch of the supernatural. Very well done blend and you can't go wrong with Ethan Hawke as your lead.

Rewatched the second to that and still couldn't get into it (sinister 2). I mean, it's fine enough as a B-movie, but after watching the first all the mystery is gone and it could almost fit in the children of the corn series without anyone noticing with some minor changes.

Guess I'm saying, can't really get excited about anything new, but do think I can look forward to some rewatches I haven't seen in a while or only once.

Poltergeist & Sinister are both awesome movies... Sinister 2, not so much.

Watched a couple over the weekend:

MV5BMjE5MTYyOTM4MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNzI5MTk1NDE@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_.jpg

Beyond the Reach (2014): A high-rolling corporate shark and his impoverished young guide play the most dangerous game during a hunting trip in the Mojave Desert.

Not too shabby of a movie. Must have been new to Amazon since it was everywhere I looked. Nothing original about it but its one of those good "what would you do" type of survival thriller films. The ending, or "endings", was crap but still worth the watch.

MV5BMjEwODQ0MjI2OV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMTA4MjQ0Mw@@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_.jpg

Splice (2009): Genetic engineers Clive Nicoli and Elsa Kast hope to achieve fame by successfully splicing together the DNA of different animals to create new hybrid animals for medical use.

Man that movie was freakin weird. It had all the makings to be a decent sci-fi thriller but it never really takes it there or becomes anything remotely suspenseful. Instead it just meddles with strange relationship drama and ultimately makes you contemplate WTF you just watched with a series of uncomfortable scenes. Disturbing & gross is all I'll say. Would have been so much better had Dren went rogue earlier & just turned into a Alien or Predator type sci-fi film. Shoulda, coulda, woulda

Anyone have Shudder? I was thinking about signing hp then canceled before the 7 days just to watch The Beach House. I mean this movie I can probably watch in a month or two but I don’t want to wait lol
