Year round college football would be great IMO. A few years ago there was some rattling about the G5s moving to the spring and have their own playoff. It never gained any traction because theG5s couldn't make the financial numbers work. The money they'd get from their own playoff wasn't even close to offsetting what they get from the P5s and the Kotex Tampon type bowl games.

I was happy with the XFL this go around. A lot of the rule changes were really cool and getting the coaches and players mic'd up I thought was super cool, it reminds me in hockey when every now and then the annoucers go away and you just hear the ref mics. I love that. Anywho, I thought the XFL was ok this time and actually looked forward to it somewhat. I think it would have gotten better with a few more years under its belt.

As for the G5, they either need playoff representation or their own league - that's really it in my opinion.

Whoooaaaaaaaaaaaa, attending a Harvard/Yale game would be way too sphisticated for a guy that displays favorites like the Bares and Red Faders. A game in your area similar to Mary Hardin Baylor vs Hardin Simmons would be more appro-pro!
Also a classic

I think it’s asking too much to have a Spring season and then turn right back around and start again in the Fall, even if it’s a one time thing.

I did too. I thought they had a lot of good ideas for entertainment.

Maybe a shortened season, 9 games in spring then start 2021 season in October. Maybe 10 games. IDK just throwing stuff out there.

That might work. Less football sucks, but a hell of a lot better than no football
Yes it does...but maybe that "less football" might mean the crappy games would be the ones cut!

Hey, a guy can hope can't he!

I’d rather have crappy games than no game. I wouldn’t feel guilty at all about having a cupcake game before playing Alabama

If any league could do this it's the Ivy League when you consider they're about as isolated as a D-I conference can get. But I'm not sure anyone else will follow other than maybe the SWAC for similar reasons.

I hated that the XFL had to get shut down due to these circumstances. The games were entertaining and a lot of the changes like ref communications during replays being broadcast and the kickoff change were welcome gimmicks.

Also got to laugh @Used 2 B Hu's Guardians every week.

If you only get 8-9 games, wouldn't you rather then all be good?

If it happens it'll have to probably be entirely done as a conference initiative. For instance if the Ivy League teams only play each other and do 7 games in March-April then the same thing again in October-November it would be a bit of a crunch but definitely doable without the logistics of trying to make it work with the other conferences.

In a shortened season yes, but I don’t mind a couple cupcakes thrown in a 12 game schedule. I’m also a guy that doesn’t see the difference between playing Rice and playing Samford.

This move would completely destroy the SEC and ACC out of conference schedules.

Surprised Ivy League hasn't gone to sarcastiball. Seems like football is wrought with toxic masculinity.

Leave it to the brain trust to realize early on that there isn't gonna be a college football season in September, and to get a jump on next year.
This is genius.
They won't go to any bowls, more than likely, so postponing does not affect them. But what it does is make their product's watcha-bility sky rocket because of a lack of any football at all.

The Ivy League refuses to participate in any postseason games.
