Before Covid, 7800 people died every day in the United States from auto crashes to murder to natural causes.

Sadly, every death today is related directly Covid. Even suicide has Covid as a cause because his close friend, an 89 year old neighbor had cancer and died as a result of contracting Covid.

That's not remotely accurate

I agree. Obviously it’s a fluid situation but put some heavy consideration around moving the games to the spring.
I really hope they do this. As it stands, I can't see any possibility of a normal season; even if fans are completely banned from stadiums. PLayers will get sick, huge portions of teams will be out for weeks. It just won't work. Spring at least gives the possibility of containing the virus better - or - hoping there's a vaccine/treatment by then.

Rutgers is in doubt.

What Rutgers’ Fall 2020 academic decisions means for football team, athletics amid coronavirus pandemic

If the governor of New Jersey says, no NO NO, then there will be no sports at Rutgers. Rutgers won't allow events to happen, so, just what is a football game?

"Rutgers has also extended its suspension of all campus events."

“I think we are far from certain that we are going to have a college football season in the fall,” Rutgers President Holloway told NJ Advance Media’s Adam Clark last week.

Rutgers to be mostly remote this fall, will limit student housing

I'm visiting my family in Austin. On the news they are talking about doing another shutdown soon for 30 days. Doing this, they hope that it will be enough time to quarantine most Texans and school can proceed on time in August.

MLB is having major problems getting its testing in place.

Given the size and scope of CFB...this is starting to become worrisome.

It's gonna be a truncated season. After enough teams have players stuck in quarantine all over the country, the Chief Amazement Officer at the NCAA will slowly swing a dead cat around his head while declaring coitus interruptus.

Stanford just dropped 11 sports.

The sports that will be eliminated are: men’s and women’s fencing, field hockey, lightweight rowing, men’s rowing, co-ed and women’s sailing, squash, synchronized swimming, men’s volleyball and wrestling.

This is going to be common place after football gets cancelled this season. Football pays for about everything else. Even one year without it will be crippling for the non revenue sports

Big Ten quite possibly going to a 10 game conference only season

Teams currently with 5 B1G road games/4 home * Nebraska * Iowa * Minnesota * Purdue * Northwestern * Illinois

Teams currently with only 4 road games/5 home: * Wisconsin * Penn State * Ohio State * Michigan * Michigan State * Indiana * Maryland * Rutgers

The B1G west would all get to add a home game against the B1G East

Shorter season is possible. Less games will give teams more flexibility to rescheduled if needed. Probably means conference only (ND will have to figure something out)

Positive news out of Texas.. High school summer conditioning programs are back.. they made some more safety rules but kids are back lifting and running in groups. Seems like the state is hell bent on a fall season of football happening in high school

ND could be counted as a conference game for this season only and fill in the remaining games with Indies.

Meanwhile, every other country moves forward with sports and has been for the past couple months. Good job America!

Just don't see the season happening on a full scale "sanctioned NCAA" level. Not sure if that makes sense but don't see a season with games with current set up happening. Maybe a modified schedule with limited teams in leagues?? A season of "participation" maybe. This issue is way to big to mange at this point, thanks a lot China and WHO !! You really fucked us this time

They never shut ours down. Girls got shut down because a couple of their parents are positive. But they work out in separate facilities.
