Speaking of old Canadian rock 'n rollers, I came across this video of Burton Cummings on the Howard Stern radio show back in the 90's and thought it was pretty good...

still listening to an artist a day while working from home.

shout-out to the poet who writes songs for Wheatus.
from the song Truffles

You, you think yer such a bad ass;
You think yer such a rough neck;
Well I saw you outside eating truffles with yer mom on the patio;
I think it's really sad though;
And tell yer girl ta quit buggin' me;
'Cause I saw her outside suckin' dick
In the bathroom of the bus of the Iron Maiden cover band;

and later on:
I'm thinkin' what in the Sam Ham Hill
Is goin' on wit yer moms in the clogs and the skirt,
Wouldn't fuck'er for my country with a flag on her face and a stolen dick.

Surprised that one made it south of the border, thought it was a Much Music exclusive (Canadian MTV).
But in re-listening (after 20 years), it is quite a strong album.

"I'm An Adult Now" got a decent amount of air play on a local radio station then. And on 120 Minutes on MTV. I remember I liked a few more songs on the album besides that.

When i was 20 or so and still lived at home someone broke into my house (my mother was sleeping upstairs) and stole all my things. Not sure if I was the target or if my stuff just happened to be in the room they got into. I lost a bunch of CDs, tapes made from friends cds, and years of stuff I recorded from the radio lol. Insurance paid decently and I replaced a bunch of things, but some I forgot about and /or never replaced. TPOH was one of those i think.

yer not gonna fuckin believe this but similar thing happened to me mid 90’s ... Still living at home in the basement (lol). Mid morning break in through the basement door with my brother sleeping in his room that the burglar had to walk past to get to my door. Brother never woke. Person took about 40 cds, my5cd player and all my fitted baseball caps which was the worst part for me... about 15 of them... although I didn’t mind the Texas a&m hat being stolen because seemed everyone always asked me “why are you wearing an A-team hat” Different time for sports knowledge back then in Canada lol..looked like this:
16TOFMNCTXMMRP1FTAPA

Deductible on the home insurance was $500 so I paid that and needed to provide a list of all the cds and hats so they could come up with a value. I honestly didn’t remember many of the cds I had. They ended giving me a drawdown account of around $800 for the cds at the local CD/record store A&B Sound even though I think almost the entire CD collection stolen was purchased from Colombia House for pennies lol. Was a great shopping spree day replenishing the collection lol

I did the same thing when my place was broken into. Insurance Co just said replace your 300 CDs, and I think they set up an account at A&B Sound for me. Didn't matter which CDs, just the number, so ordered a shit load of imports and rare stuff. Took me months to rebuild my collection, put so much thought into it.

Wasn't quite as fun replacing one's when they were stolen a few months later.
My roommate was so pissed he would pretend to go to work, sneak back home through the back door and sit in the living room in silence all day with my .22

They also stole my VCR, with the classic Ron Jeremy film Camp Beaver Lake in it. That was a great movie.

They got my TV, VCR, and CD player too. I knew I had about 100 cds because I had a 100 cd rack that was almost full. The insurance company wanted me to list them all. Off the top of my head I could think of 30 or 40 so I went to a record store and made a list. I got a check, which I used to replace some and which I used to finance part of a New Orleans trip. lol

Big robbery mystery was we had a dog that barked at everything and he was quiet so we assume it was someone we knew. I got home about 5 minutes after they left (my mother heard them on their way out) - if i had been earlier would I have caught a 'friend' or been shot? lol
