Cal has owned Washington over the last few years.

Not a threat.

Cal should have a nice season. like 8-9 wins could be in the works, but I just don't see them only losing 1 game this year. They simply don't have the talent on the roster.

Talent doesn't mean much with bad coaching.

Cal has beaten you the last couple of years with egg-heads.

Brains always wins over brawn.

Show me otherwise.

Cal (11-1, 8-1)

Will 80% of the teams their facing only have half their rosters due to covid? 11-1? I don't fucking think so.

Looking at their schedule, 11-1 isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility, imo.

Their toughest games are @USC, Oregon, Washington, Utah, @ASU and Stanford. Out of those 5, 3 are home games against teams that are projected to lose 5 or more games.

If they can upset Oregon or USC, 11-1 is doable.

I'm not saying that's what I think they'll get. I think they drop at least 1 more game and may be 2 more. It's gonna be tough to beat ASU in Sun Devil Stadium. But they get them in November, so it won't be surface of the sun hot like it would be if they played them in September.

Plus, it's the PAC and we all know how PAC teams love to fuck up each others seasons. lol

Agreed. People are trying to out smart themselves. They are a good team but aren’t close to pulling off a 11-1 season. When is the last time they finished above .500 in the PAC?

Cal was undefeated last season when Garbers started. If he can stay healthy this season I don't think 9 regular season wins is out of the reality zone.

Cal was undefeated but that didn't include their 3 toughest games (Oregon, Utah and USC). They probably wouldn't have been much better if Garbers remaine healthy. Maybe 1 more win.

That said, I think Cal is recruiting better and Wilcox is a great coach. 9 wins is possible, probably their ceiling. 11 wins is extremely unlikely.
