What are you talking about man? Since Kwame Brown? Brown had an 11 year career. He wasn’t good, but he wasn’t Bennett.

Meme worthy bust Markelle Fultz has already accomplished considerably more than Bennett did in his entire career.

Bennett is easily the worst #1 pick of the last 40 years and probably all time. Larue Martin drafted #1 by the Blazers in 1972 is the only player in the last 50 years where it is really even debatable. And the only reason I am not going further back is because I don’t know all the players drafted prior to 1970.

I tried to find an appropriate Fultz meme but didn't. Really didn't think anyone would put any thought into it. Just making fun of a former Runnin' Rebel. Proof I'll take shots at players/team I root for. Wouldn't want anyone to think I'll only make fun of other teams/players. :heh:

Just saying though. Kwame doesn’t deserve that comp.

What did Kwame ever do to you?

He even infiltrated your arch enemy and took them down from within. You should love Kwame Brown.

What are those guidelines? How do you prevent guys who play in Zona, Florida, and Texas from catching the virus? Arent they going back home to their families after each game at home?
The guidelines they give players to adhere to OFF the field if they want the season to go on and be completed.

No, you cannot prevent them from going out, but you can tell them what needs to be done to limit exposure to the virus and hope they will listen.

I'd expect that they'll have to basically stick together as a group from the hotel to the field and back on the road. Also stay at their hotels and away from the public.

As far as home games, they'll likely have to follow the same protocols as folks who have continued to work during this.

I'd think that someone working in a grocery store for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, has a better chance at catching it than a professional athlete who isn't interacting with the general public.
Exactly....as bks mentioned, you cannot make them follow the guidelines, but if they want to see the season conclude you can hope they will.

Yeah hopefully those they live with take the necessary precautions as well to avoid any major spread for the players and their teammates
I hear what Francona has been preaching to the players.....just another "all in this together" situation and they need to be smart. Those who can follow instructions have the best chance to make it through the season with the least infections.

I forgot Kwame played for the Purple 'n Gold. Good call. I hope they retire his number.

They haven't already?!?

Your Lakers have a lot. The greatest PG of all time. All those banners (three of which I refuse to accept ('85, '87, '10). The most unstoppable shot of all time (skyhook should have been banned). And most importantly the NBA's best dancer.

He's a perfect example of why some white people shouldn't dance.

Pretty sure FSU has the okay from the Seminole tribe in Florida. Wanna mention the Indians logo for a second. Glad Chief Wahoo's gone. Should have done that years ago. Had to mention that because I don't want anyone to think I have an issue with the other logos because of what happened with the Indians logo.

I like how you said all indian imagery. I wouldn't have an issue if everything changes. And the Celtics and Fighting Irish are great examples of logos that should go.

They big question is where does it stop? Should Vikings be allowed? Are all sports teams going to be named after either animals or inanimate objects? I personally don't see the issue with using a group of people as long as the team honors the heritage of that team. To me, simply changing Washington to the Warriors without changing logos is acceptable, but it doesn't appear to be far enough for many and I am certainly in no position for my opinion to mean much in this case as someone of European descent (English/Irish). Fighting Irish sounds might sound acceptable to many, but the logo depicts a leprechaun and originally had a bottle of whiskey by his foot, not exactly complimentary. Hell, even Cavalier was originally a derogatory term for wealthy supporters of King Charles during the English Civil War, but later accepted and turned to a positive by that group.

I think this baseball season will be a mess

I think you can substitute any team sport in that statement, and probably extend it to at least next season as well. Until there's a vaccine, sports is going to be "the best we can approximate" for a while.

Maybe those animal names are offensive too.

Did anyone ask the Bulls if they were offended by the Chicago teams’ awful play?

Or if the Pelicans were offended because they aren’t as cool as Hawks?

20 years from now maybe it will just be “The Washington Football team”.

You make very good points. Not sure where the line should be drawn as far as what's acceptable. Logo's that aren't acceptable are obvious, like Chief Wahoo.

You mentioned ND. I'm Irish. My dad and grandparents were from Ireland. Not speaking for anyone else but I've never liked the Fighting Irish logo.

It'll be interesting to see which teams across many sports end up changing their names/logos.

so...

now that Sir Patrck is signing a decade long deal with the Chiefs, i guess we'll see something about this for Cheesecake Baker. I mean, he's just as good, according to one lawyer...:heh:

My bet is that contract will look like a hell of a bargain by the time it is up.
