Yeah, that isn’t right.

In these times, people have to think about more than themselves. Many don’t “need” the money and their teams shouldn’t be there anyway. On top of all that, you have no idea about personal concerns individual players have.

The season is going to go on with or without teams like the Nets. They aren’t needed.
Just read a story here on baseball resuming which featured comments/thoughts of Tito Francona. Says there was no way he was staying home.

Honestly, if anyone has reason to opt out of his sport it's him. 60+ with some serious underlying conditions.

But, yeah, bball a little different for some as the bubble keeps them away from the fam and, yeah, some teams probably have no shot.

For someone with $1000 to spare...that wouldn't be a bad bet. They're the type of team that could get hot and do some damage.

Plus, aren't they already in Orlando? Thought I heard that.

Heck, I'd be tempted to put $100 on the Spurs just because of Pop. lol
Yes the Raps are in Orlando from what I have seen

Was thinking the same and I don't gamble. Not even in tHoop bookie. lol

It's just going to be such a weird season. With only 60 games, it'll essentially be a pennant race from game 1. What if a favorite like the Dodgers or Yankees gets off to a slow start...they may not have time to recover.

Especially if someone else gets off to a hot start.
Yep...my guess is at least one team no one expects to make playoffs gets there.....one that probably finishes well below .500 in a full season.

Definitely helps my team as we have what seems like an easy schedule. wont help them win the division but gives them a better chance at a WC.

@Shanemansj13 ...totally unrelated to NBA but does this MLB season count as a service time year?

Curious if Detroit just goes all out with their prospects if not

That would be some seriously interesting baseball to watch from my perspective.
Unless they make a change, yes, service time counts.

One of my favorite moments from working at the MGM grand sportsbook when I lived in the desert was that first Giants/Pats SB. The Pats were heavy favorites and all casinos in Lost Wages lost alotta money on that game. Loved it.

I can imagine...

only reason I was pissed that season was that i wanted to se SOMEBODY take down the Dolphin's undefeated season mark...

long as they don't touch the Chiefs...

course, i actually know the story of how they acquired that nickname...

Not sure if they'll be alright or not. The Redskins were mentioned. Why can they keep their logo but the Indians had get rid of theirs?

And what about these?

The only team/program I can think of that won't have an issue is Florida State. From what I remember the school has the okay from the Seminole Nation tribe.

The logos aren't problematic necessarily (Braves one is borderline at best). Indians was cartoonish, so no go. Indians name isn't necessarily an issue, but Redskins is clearly derogatory. Seminoles and Braves are fine. However, that tomahawk chop will be an issue too. Redskins could change their name to the Washington Warriors and be all set.

Yeah we'll just disagree on this. It hypocritical some have to go while others can stay. Odd you think the Braves and Blackhawks logos are okay.

I said the Braves logo was borderline at best. I would change it personally. The Indians logo is ridiculing.

Would you think these appropriate?

So the Braves logo is borerline at best AND it's fine? Well which one is it because it can't be both. You said this- braves one is bordline at best / braves are fine.

They are all in the same boat. Redskins worst of the bunch, Chiefs probably not as bad as the others.

Some like Tito who probably should stay home, won’t. And others who should play won’t.

But it is their decision and there are consequences to not playing. Judgement from fans who really don’t know what each athlete has going on should not be one of those consequences.

Simply saying “I don’t feel comfortable” should be enough. The leagues will still go on barring significant outbreak and/or further MLB labor drama.

The Indians logo was a racist caricature. These are simpler and more dignified. Maybe not the Braves one.

I mean, fans are still entitled to their opinions if they have them counter to what a player chooses to do. But, yeah, so long as an able player forfeits his salary if he decides not to play (as seems to be what will happen) then it's his choice.
