It's not PPR, no, but last year Ekeler was still the RB7 in standard and this year he shouldn't have anyone to take away from him later in the season like Gordon did last year. Plus, all of his receiving yards and TDs still count.
Ekeler had all 3 of his rushing TDs during the first 4 weeks of the season, before Gordon came back. He had a better YPC, more Yards After Contact/ATT, a similar Yards Before Contact/ATT (1.8 to 1.9), and broke tackles (strictly rushing) at almost double the pace Gordon did per attempt (11 ATT/BTKL vs 20.3 ATT/BTKL).
Ekeler was a more efficient and, in my eyes, a better overall RB than Gordon last year. Gordon is leaving an opening of 13.5 carries/game and 4.5 targets/game. If Ekeler is used like he should be, he could have a very nice season.

The only reason I'd fear a RBBC for them is because I don't trust Anthony Lynn (or most coaches for that matter) to play their best players the way they should. Especially at RB.
Also, I'd say Gordon and Singletary, both taken before Ek, are more susceptible to a RBBC or having work taken from them than I'd imagine Ekeler is.

Agreed. I'd call both a reach over Ekeler, but everyone has their own hunches. I don't trust Anthony Lynn either. Also I simply fear scat-back types. I've been burned by too many before.
