Iowa says fuck it they are letting people in like last year

Iowa planning to "open Kinnick up" for college football season

The Iowa Hawkeyes are scheduled to kickoff inside Kinnick Stadium on September 5 against the Northern Iowa Panthers. Of Iowa's 48,000 season tickets sold from the 2019 season, about 75-80 percent of them have been renewed. That begs the question, what will college football look like in 2020?

Right now, nobody knows. But Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta met with reporters on Thursday and said that the University is planning to open up Kinnick Stadium up to the public when the Hawkeyes take on the Panthers.

"We have 100 more days (until Iowa kick off) and by then, my guess is we're going to learn a lot between now and then," Barta told local reporters. "My staff (and I) are still planning for several different scenarios and the scenarios we plan for, can change by the day, by the hour, by the week, but as of today, we are still planning to open Kinnick up and have as many fans that want to join us, join us."
I think we are planning on having about 25,000 people, but keeping an open mind towards either increasing or eliminating fans depending on the situation

Is tailgating outside of The Shoe still allowed?

Shit....I doubt it will be if we reduce capacity. Maybe they will set up zones and monitor them for spacing?

I have no idea. But I would think it's a bit difficult to tailgate considering the usual gameday crown size because of what's going on. Like you said maybe they space the tailgaters out & only so many are allowed?

Could see something like allowing x number of participants per spot. And spacing out the spots.

Hope they can do something. Tailgating on gameday is always a fun.

I've said this before but I will always miss Fall Saturdays at Ohio Stadium. Had hopes of taking a trip back home to NE Ohio to see family this year. Then going to a Tribe game. A Browns game. And a game at The Shoe. But that's now on hold due to what's going on obviously. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Not gonna lie, it's fucking hard to read the comments/message boards of Michigan Insider and MGoBlog (as much as I love their content). That kind of conference move is asinine.

The 'holier than thou' attitude certainly exists.

It does, and it could be the underlying reason, but it seems this whole "OSU is clearly somehow cheating" narrative has really become more common recently. That is really not helping matters.
