If the Clippers win the championship this year:

1) Kawhi will be mentioned above KD because of his 3 championships with 3 teams. KD will be pissed even more.
2) Lebron doesn't win another title, so Klutch is gonna cry some more.
3) James Harden still doesn't win anything.
4) Giannis doesn't win a title and requests a trade to the Warriors.

Good luck @Mecca on behalf of all Warriors fans.

Don't forget that AD will leave the Lakers & sign a team friendly deal with the Warriors.

doubt it would happen, but couldn't they also worsen their chances if they played more games?
have you looked at the Pistons ' roster? It doesn't matter where they play- home, away, g-league, europe, college- they aren't winning. Maybe they beat a JV high school team. Hell, they fell behind ,the Knicks in the standings.

1- the Celtics beat the Clippers in a thrilling 7 game series (sorry @Mecca)
2- the Lakers will be knocked outta the playoffs in the first round by the Pelicans
3- KD will be jealous of Kyrie & create a fake social media account trashing him
4- the Jazz will trade Rudy Gobert to the Celtics for Enes Kanter & any of these players- Robert Williams III, Tremont Waters, Vincent Poirier, Javonte Green.

Wait, you are actually saying no legitimate reason to change the rules in a season when the rules for the entire end of the season have been changed?
But there will still be 16 teams in playoffs and 14 who are not....and they will have played more games than the amount played in 2 most recent shortened seasons (where lottery rules were not changed).

Change the lottery odds?

No. I don’t.

And my bet is that you wouldn’t either if the Pistons were in the bottom 4 like you want them to be.

Yeah this is pure motivated reasoning on his part.

And in those seasons all the teams played the same number of games. If you can make it work with 22 teams you can make it work with 30. Some teams just playing for different goals.
And what would be wrong with giving 8 teams and equal shot in the lottery as a consolation if they don't get to play? It's not even that huge a change with how it's been reworked. Bottom 8 odds range from 6% to 14% with the bottom 3 having the same odds. If you average the odds out it come to 10.9%, actually barely helps the Piston s who have a 10.5% shot at 5th worst.

I think it would be a fair consolation to teams that aren't allowed to finish the season.

motivated by a 0.4% change? Pffft. Let all 30 teams play is my preferred solution.
Your solution is far too difficult to solve such a tiny problem.

Are they freezing the draft standings as they currently are? If they do that means some team that makes it in to the playoffs could be in the lottery.
If not, theoretically (okay, more a possibility) the Wizards, who get to play, could go 0-8 and move past Charlotte and Chicago in the draft standings without those teams having an opportunity to play.
seems like a bigger problem than having all 30 teams play it out.

That is actually a really good argument for my suggestion a long time ago.

Just bring the top 16 and start the playoffs after a few tune up games.

Since the odds aren’t that much different, it shouldn’t bother you too much that the Pistons sit 5th.

Winning this year would be such a Clippers thing to do.

Shit would be discussed for decades in the same way as the moon landing.

It didn't happen if no one is there to see it.

I like this better. If your freezing the season for some teams, freeze it for all. Just go to the playoff with the seeding as the season ended. It is really the inequity of the 22 teams plaing that rubs me completely the wrong way.

Sure, I'd love the chance for the Piston s to tank it out as I have faith in their inability to win and possibly reach #2 or#3 for top lottery odds, but #5 is fine if the season is the same for all teams.

Maybe Dame can stick a needle in Lebron's eye like he did to Playoff P and LeBron can request a trade back to Cleveland?

Who's getting Married?

Kawhi to the Clippers when he puts a ring on it?

For once, someone else gets played by the typo Gods....lol
