I remember at draft time the Colts wanted to move Hooker. I know we have Davis but should we make a play for this guy? He is way more talented than Davis. We have two 3rd next year. Isnt he worth a 3rd?

i wouldnt give up a 3rd for a possible one year rental . i stick with what i have and if he plays well and we still have the need simply sign him in FA and keep the asset

Stop trading away picks. We are NOT winning a SB anytime soon. Keep the picks!!

lesson one on building a consistent winner is to VALUE draft picks that 3rd will be nice in 2021

If its for a good young player that we can sign long term why not? New flash. Not all draft picks turn out to be a good players.

I think what they're saying is we shouldn't be... nah, I'm not gonna make another Hooker joke. This place is too classy for that.

Is he way more talented? What makes you believe this?

What has Rivera's motto been since day 1? Prove yourself, on short term contracts. What makes you think he would want to trade draft capital to tie up a long term contract. Your odds of hitting on "good" players increase with your amount of draft picks.

hooker could be worth a 3rd but not as a 1 yr rental which is potentially what you are looking at . but lets be real if i am hookers agent i gamble on a big year and hope to hit the FA market . as of right now we arent a contender so i would simply be smart , keep my pick , and if he is what you think he is sign him as a FA

I understand the anxiety surrounding what's being billed as weak spots on the team, but until an actual, on field evaluation takes place, we're simply going to have to trust in the new staff.

Right now, what we have appears to be a situation in which initial evaluations led to draft/free agent acquisitions aimed at their most glaring weaknesses. All issues cannot be addressed in one year, especially the first year of a rebuild. That said, isn't it possible that RR and company are satisfied with what they have at TE and LT?

And all this is all the harder without OTA’s mini camps ( we would have had 2 ) and only 3 weeks of TC . I expect a very slow I.e . Lots of losses to start the year

I am working on a thread that addresses. This point

Former fist rounder and has produced when he played. That's not worth a 3rd rounder?

b/c the talent is there and we could get a deal on a long term deal right now.

then we pay more in FA. Could be cheaper if you trade and sign long term right now

First rounders aren’t always more talented, not saying he isn’t.

Davis has been the starter on top ten defenses every year in his career. Davis has been a better tackler and has blitzed successfully.

I read a report that Davis is a bad tackler but good centerfielder. IMO Hooker is a better all around player. I hope Davis does do well but I thought we would of looked at Hooker

Why would his agent allow that ? And why didn’t the colts do his option ?

The Colts would do it b/c they dont want to pay him. Its security for the player with a long term deal.

the colts have plenty of money and they drafted the guy . you have to question why they would give up on him
