So let me understand. It's ok for Malcolm Jenkins to run his big fat mouth, but Fangio can't express his opinion ?
Love you George, but in this day and age NOBODY can run from politics.

ALSO-----------from ESPN one of my least favorite places---------
Fangio spoke to Broncos players Wednesday, and many with the team said the give-and-take was honest and helpful.
Sure it’s ok to express your opinion - and then live with the consequences. That’s my question. He made a statement that he was forced to back down from that obviously offended a majority of the players in the NFL. Whether he’s right or wrong in anyone’s eyes isn’t the question. The issue is whether he damaged his opportunities in the future to sign those offended? (And by the way, it could be white players he offended as well as black players.)

Drew Brees is a wonderful football player and I like to watch his games. Still - he is one of the few people who has sued his own mother (for using his likeness in a political add).

He should have and speak about his own opinion on the taking a knee issue, what that opinion should not do is to provide a derogatory description of those who believe in the value of participating in that protest.

I always like your point of view on a multitude of issues.

I usually don’t dive into commentary but I’m now concerned that many of our military leaders present and former generals could no longer remain silent which is what they have been trying to do after leaving office.

Now a days I drive by heritage park hoping to find Lock on the field but no luck yet.

Is dove valley opened?? What’s the timeframe?

Money overrides everything in the NFL. Unless a player has already made his money, I don't see an issue . In a very small minuscule situation maybe yes.

Lol... Springer with the "leave politics on the other forum" followed by "I wonder if his political statement will hurt him..."

I think in both Brees and the coaches statements, their ignorance should be on trial more than the person. The reactions they received were justified.

I don't think Fangio is hurt by his statement - which he revised after consulting with his players. It is not unusual for people inside the system to not realize how the system itself reflects bias.

I really think Fangio was originally referring to decisions about the roster and playing time in the NFL are based on merit (now that black people can be QBs). From that perspective I think Fangio was generally correct. Obviously, front office staff and coaching staff - especially head coaching are still examples of institutional bias against blacks and minorities.

Then there is the Kaepernick situation which is blatantly biased. In that case it was okay for him to be a starting QB, but when he began a peaceful protest - he was obviously black balled from the league.

Stupid question
What if one of these older coaches contracted Covid and unfortunately died. Would they cancel the season?

Probably not for a single case. However if COVID was beginning to spread through the league they would considering scuttling the season.

Ignorance ????? Really ????? So the mob can vilify and intimidate and say anything they wish, but people who believe differently are suppose to stay silent because it is "ignorant" ? Not quite the way I remember it in civics class.

Did I say they should remain silent? I think they should speak up, so they can be educated as to why society will no longer accept the systemic racism that prevails in American society. Which is why I made the distinction between their understanding of racism and reality. And in case you missed it Greg, the "mob" is how change is made in the US. And right now, the "mob" is growing tired of being ignored and silenced.

LGM, couldn't totally disagree with you. If you can't talk about a different point of view than the media and the left agenda without actually discussing it than you will always have division. By the way, I'm a black, conservative. The liberals have been killing the black community in the urban cities for the last 60 years with their policies. That should be the real conversation, as black on black murder, the welfare system where it's an incentive to have only one parent (make more money), drugs, etc.....

But that's the last that I will talk about it. I really want to talk about football soon.

I think you should start talking football now - there are plenty of opportunities to do that here.

Has anyone ever seen someone riding a unicycle blindfolded in rush hour traffic?
