You guys are looking at this all wrong. From my perspective, it’s the first week in June and the Giants are tied for first place. At this rate, they’ll still be in first in September. Best season they’ve had in at least five years.

Dude! You're a White Sox fan, and they're looting in Chicago. Isn't this like Christmas and Halley's Comet all rolled into one for you?
Too tired to go looting. Plus, what is there to loot in Cleveland?

Sox suck less than your team. Fact.

Without baseball what are you going to do with all of those bandannas and flannel shirts you only button at the top?

They do suck...

They suck at throwing the 1919 World Series
At least they had one to throw. Indians would blow a hobo for a pint of vodka to get to a WS and have the chance of winning it. My God, the Cubs?! For shame!!!

I’m pissed at the whole situation, but I love it too much to ever fully walk away

Oh, I'll still watch baseball. I'll watch my son play, and I'd catch at game at the local minor league team, but if the Indians don't play baseball this season, I'm pretty sure I'll be done with MLB.

Speaking of minor league teams I went to Aeros games all the time. Canal Park's a great little stadium. Would just take the bus downtown for games so I could have some beers. And anytime a Tribe player was rehabbing tickets were tough to get.

MLB is dying a slow death. I work in the Restaurant industry with plenty of 17-29 year old males. None of them follow baseball. I'm in two fantasy football leagues with 20 adult guys, maybe 3 have a favorite baseball team. People just don't care about baseball anymore. We all know some of the potential reasons for this:

Lots of other sports or entertainment choices
Disgusted by the amounts of money they make
An entitlement that rubs fans the wrong way
The evolution of the bullpen and how it changed the game for the worst( starters only going 5 innings for example)
Steroids and other cheating scandals

But even if none of those are the reasons, sometimes a society just changes what it likes. Things don't always stay the same. Baseball was perfect for America from the late 1800's for 120 years till 2000, but I feel like times are always changing and we are starting to see the fading of interest of what used to be our national pastime. I wonder if 20 years from now MLB will even exist.

I love baseball. I've been a fan since I was 7 years old. I think baseball has a tough time because it's hard for them to pick up adult fans. I feel like an overwhelming majority of fans became so when they were kids. Baseball is a slow sport. The ball is actually in play for only 5 minutes in a game. If you haven't grown up appreciating all the things that happen in between, then you might have a tough time loving this sport.
