Mudflats on a hot summer day. Smells like a sulfur fart gone bad. When I was a kid
we'd tie a tee shirt across our nose and mouth and soak it with Old Spice. We'd dig clams
for four or five hours in the mud and when we started gagging, and dry heaving, we'd call
it a day. On a good day we could dig about two bushels. On a really hot day and no wind,
maybe a bushel. In 1963, $10 could buy a pair of white Levis and a Madris shirt. The smell
was sickening, but the money was great. Everybody loves steamed clams.

Funny, mudflats never bothered me.

I have a strong stomache but as I've said before, creamed corn is disgusting

I don't eat them anywhere but Clam Haven in Derry. But fired whole belly clams are delicious.

I heard that the previous owner has sold the Haven. Haven't heard many positive remarks so far.

Fried clams and fried oysters are two seafoods that won't kill me. I've eaten clams and clam cakes from Huots since I was three years old (1953) and they are still open in Camp Ellis, Maine. Camp Ellis is located on the other side of Old Orchard Beach. Believe it or not, When I want clams or clam cakes from April until October, I'll make the hour and fifteen minute drive to Huots. They are th best. Fish and Chips on Friday nights is renown. I used to break off the crispy haddock end pieces until my throat would start to close.....delicious death.

I didn't realize there was a grading system that scored when a fart went bad... I always thought they started bad and then went worse...

Again, I so agree with the damn creamed corn... It's like eating something that starts out the same way it finishes (sorry for the mental picture).

I guess some people only taste the sugar in it.

I'm spending this weekend passing a really large kidney stone.
Ever have the pleasure?

It that like putting a shot? or Shot putting?

Peeing a rock is not my idea of a fun weekend.

Come on Charlie - everyone knows your top 5 are all pornos. And your favorite sports movie is probably Stripes, based on the Jello wrestling scene.

I have 65 movies on Vudu and 154 DVDs in the cave. I've watch 'em all at least three times.

Dealers are getting desperate and prices are dropping like a rock.

Mine are one genre. Action. I don't buy Comedy or Drama. Too often I never watch them again. I did watch an oldie the other night. Kramer vs Kramer. Was I ever that young? Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman have gotten old. I might watch it again in 2025. Last night I watched Act of Valor for the umpteenth time. I had tremendous respect for the SEALS. I know I was never physically good enough. Mentally yes. Physically, no. I would have rung the bell.

I had it physically and mentally. At 19 I was heavily recruited. When they took me to the 3rd floor at AFEES in LA and locked me in and grilled me, I decided I did not want a part of that. Though I had what it took, you can't put a square peg in a round hole.

I was pressured to give respect to people on organizations that had not earned my respect. That was counter to my beliefs. The mantra of the sixties was "question authority"
