3 other former police officers charged in the case of George Floyd

Chauvin has been upgraded to Murder 2 and charges have been laid against the other three. Aiding and abetting.

Now we just need a conviction to really get the ball rolling. They get found not guilty, there will be nothing left. Problem is 2nd degree murder is probably going to be harder to prove than 3rd degree. I guess they feel there's enough in his IA profile to back malicious mindset and intent.

They were discussing this and they think that the 8 minutes and 46 seconds that the knee was on the neck coupled with not removing the knee after George Floyd said "I can't believe" and "I'm going to die" warrant the 2nd degree murder charge.

It's gone about as well as you would expect for her. Let's hope she goes away now.

The fact that Chauvin knew Floyd would have made 3rd degree the impossible charge to prove, I've read. 2nd degree will be easier to prosecute because it better fits the offense.

Ah, they may have known each other. No guarantee they ever worked on the same night. But the move from 3rd degree to 2nd degree would cover the prosecutor in case they did cross paths.

I have some doubts about this, mostly that, even if the FBI were investigating "Antifa-affiliation" or whatever, they would definitely say Antifa, not anti-fascist, to hide the meaning and make it sound less ridiculous, I'd have to guess.

Unless they're trying to trap protesters in a "terrorist" label by asking them a question with a pretty obvious answer.
