In other wildlife hijinks news, last night a racoon climbed up the blue spruce on my property and decimated a crows nest forcing a fledgling to jump for its life. The mama and papa crow went apeshit and chased the fucker away. The fledgling spent the night on the lawn and i thought for sure it was a goner but lo and behold it survived the night laying there in the open.

this morning, it hopped and managed to climb back into the tree using a low hanging branch. 6 hours later and its halfway back up the tree to its nest. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

meanwhile the adult crows are attacking everyone who comes close lol. Its an inside day for the kids !

this morning some old guy out for a stroll got attacked and let out every swear word in his arsenal lmao. Called the birds fuckin cvnts, turned, faced them on the wire and flipped the birds the double birds ... ive been laughing all day :pound:

In my defense, I was dive-bombed by some crows some years ago at a park in Calgary and it has traumatized me to this day.

this is the second year they built a nest in the same tree. Not sure its the same couple (they mate for life). But crows apparently remember faces and they happen to hate mine lol

Cool story and all, but it's missing the most important detail: had you been to the stampede yet?

Crow update:
Wife has scheduled a driveby birthday party for our son tonight so the past 2 days i have been working to make peace with the crows so this doesnt end up like the Hitchcock movie. They have taken well to the expired Aug 19 2019 Tostitos rounds that i found in the back of the pantry and have been throwing at them. My efforts have been more sincere than cops taking a knee !

Im thinking if they start to like me i may even be able to train them to hold weaponry (knives have been done before) in their beaks and eventually i might be able to write a series of successful childrens books about them
