A player gets traded.
Another player tests free agency and changes teams.
I'm reading some of the conversations about these players.
To some, there is excitement for the change.
To others, there is trepidation and risk.

:ranger:

This is just a small sample size, since I only went back one season.
The players are sorted by their ECR (or Expert Consensus Ranking) which shows players of greater fantasy value higher.

I compared Total Yards and Total TD from their old 2018 team with these totals on their new 2019 team.
Negative differences are in (red).

Example: RB LeSean McCoy, who had an ECR of 100 (8th round roughly). He had 106 less yards in 2019 compared to 2018. But he had 2 more touchdowns in 2019 compared to 2018.

Tops on the list is Le'Veon Bell. Just a reminder, that he did not play (DNP) in 2018, so any measurable stats from 2019 would have been on the positive side. Was he worth a 2019 first round pick?

Great stuff joe.
Not sure there is a ton to apply here though, as situations are different for pretty much every player/team

But I typically avoid fringe players that switch, especially WRs.

Studs are studs, imo
Marshall balled out every where until he got old and hurt

Great stuff Joe! :suds:

Carlos Hyde was a gem for me in multiple leagues where my RB corps was depleted. Somehow that guy was churning out double-digit fantasy pts weekly. I didn't win any championships, but he sure made me look more respectable lol. Strange that it took so long for him to find work this offseason.

There are a few players that tend to fall into that "specialist" role.
They dont fit into a team's long term plans, or short term plans. But if the situation presents itself, he's our guy.

That was supposed to be Duke's backfield :poke:

Yep. I think I recall picking up Hyde on a whim the weekend he got traded to Houston since Lamar Miller got injured. Duke got first crack, but 3-4 weeks or so later Hyde took the job. Lucky me!

Nah, Duke never had a chance.

Through the first 5 weeks Duke had 41 touches (32 rushes) and Hyde had 78 touches (73 rushes), while DJ had 3 more yards per touch than Hyde over that span. I know some of that had to do with the situations duke was playing in, but that's a fairly large gap (especially considering it was 2+ more yards per carry over the 5 games)

Duke never saw over 10 carries on the season and the game where he had his most touches on the season was week 12 with 14. Hyde saw more than 14 carries 8x and one game with 14 on the dot. I wish a team would give the guy a chance to carry the bulk, and I thought last year was it, but I don't know why the hell I ever expected BoB to do something smart with his football team.

only an idiot would do something like cut Hyde from their fantasy team after the Chiefs cut him!

(I did that exact thing in 2 leagues last year before the real NFL season started, would've won my work league if I held onto Hyde, ended up taking 3rd instead)
