Assuming we get 3 first rounders this year, if this guy falls I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him with our 3rd pick (assuming he slides). Currently ranked around 10 on various prospect rankings:

Yaroslav Askarov, G, SKA-Neva (Rus.) – Flat out, Askarov has the chance to be the best goalie of his generation. A world junior starter at 17, he had his ups and downs in Ostrava, but scouts still see a total-package netminder with No. 1 potential.

Nas is not my first choice but the team played much better once he took over. I'm not sure what ownerships hold up is though, get these hires over already so we can game plan for the future.

So Buffalo fired and hired a GM within a day. I'd love our shitbag ownership group to get their act together and figure out what we're doing before the draft. We don't need the Lou/Shero handoff where we botch the 6 pick in a loaded draft again.

Foote and Holtz apparently both have cannons, one could probably post up at the point on power plays.

I still feel like we're in disarray after these hires, still don't have a lot of confidence. Like was this a Fitz hire? Was this ownership?

Defense was far and away our biggest weakness and this hire does absolutely nothing to improve that aspect of our game.

He's run and gun which will hopefully work for our younger guys but I just see a lot of 6-5 losses in our future. Let's see who the assistants are and how the rest of the off-season plays out.

Would've like Hall back, i know he didn't end well but he was literally the MVP of the league two seasons ago.... i hope it wasn't a mistake.

What we need is Nico(4th year) and Hughes to start showing NHL future dominance, no matter the coach(to a degree) would matter if those two prized #1 overalls don't pan out.

He can't be worse than Hynes and if he can get defenseman to breakout of our zone then our defense is already better than it was.
