I liked them because they weren't stupid/silly comedies. Click was a neat idea.

Yeah and it was in my opinion the saddest one, the one that pulled on your heartstrings more. But I felt like it was very corny - at least in the future time periods.

Neat idea though. I don't dislike it.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

I should start by saying that I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan. I guess, if you are as well, that you have to watch this. But, please don't look forward to it. I was very happy that I didn't rush out to the theaters for this. There are a lot of recycled jokes and the story line is pretty cheesy. Harley Quinn Smith does a really good job, though. But, it is nowhere near on the level of his other stuff.

I'm going to see it for those reasons.

But I'm in no rush. Soon come.

Uncut Gems

one of those movies where you HATE every character and you want everyone to DIAF (and I HATE that saying). Hard to see anything past the fact that everyone just sucks.

6/10

That's about right except for the soundtrack. It was horrible and quite loud where we saw it. We almost walked out because of it. I'd knock it a few more points just for that.

I gave it so many points mainly due to the technical aspects. The acting was good and the name-value of the cast was impressive as well.

I have no prob dropping the Ranking, though.

The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. A documentary about an extended family of what are basically degenerate, criminal hillbillies. Funny, alarming, fascinating and kind of scary. 7/10

Capone with Tom Hardy. Basically about the last year of his life. Although I like Hardy, this movie sucked. 4/10

Click legit caused me to well up during the hospital/son scene (especially after Adam Sandler's character became a cold hearted business guy that told his son/father off and realized it through the channel changer).

Only Adam Sandler movie that ever made me well up a bit. Definitely tugged on the heart strings.

New movies I've watched in the last couple weeks:

Simple Favor:
Not bad.... it's an okay kind of drama/mystery with Anna Kendrick (busty as always) and Blake Lively. KIND of predictable and not as good as most comparable movies, but worth a watch. I'd probably go 5.5/6 out of 10 at best. But you get to watch Anna Kendrick and her giant mangos so that's something.

The Words: Interesting movie with Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Irons. Does a pretty good job of intertwining 3 different stories into one related. Overall a very interesting concept, but the last 1/3 really fell flat for me (knew where it was going, it was one of those - OKAY OKAY, just get on with it). 5/10 (although pretty high ratings on IMDB - just wasn't for me I guess).

REWATCHED (all great movies, thought I'd like if you guys are looking for something to re-visit/watch):

Jaws - Never gets old.
Terminator - Was surprised how much enjoyment I had, it's been a while re-watching but the effects/story/acting all hold up quite nicely (except the sink scene, but still not horrible).
Casino - Joe Pesci/DeNiro at their finest.
Goodfellas - See above.
Goldeneye - Forgot how good this Bond movie is. It's really a shame they went so cheese/hammy with Brosnan in later installments. He was pretty dark in this one (which was good).

Just Mercy - pretty good. Acting is spotty at times mostly ok (especially with Foxx), story feels jumpy and unnecessary elements are included that are never referenced again which hurts it, but I think its an effort to somewhat humanize the story. Dialogue isn't great at times and parts feel heavily exaggerated. I don't mean that in a way to take away from the reality of the story, but when you tie it into the spotty acting it feels exaggerated. As for what the story is about - I won't spoil anything, you either know or you don't and will find out - but it is really sad and frustrating. No cinematography to really mention that stood out. There were emotional scenes based on the story, but only a handful where it tied in with good acting and really hit. All in all it is an ok movie. 6/10.

Invisible Man - This is not a good movie. The story and writing was bad. The acting was average. The effects were pretty solid, no real complaints that I remember. I honestly don't want to go into specifics, this was just a bad movie. I watched with the wife and after it was over I literally said out loud... 'that was a bad movie'. She liked it, but she isn't critical of movies AT ALL. I am not sure if there is a movie she actually dislikes. Very disappointed. Based on the solid effects, the average acting and there was some solid camera work - I am giving it a 3.5/10... maybe and at most would be a 4/10.

It was a bit hard to watch. Not only were all the characters pieces of shit, it all felt very incomplete. While I was watching and the way it ended.

Anna Kendrick isn't even that busty (B cup, don't have a problem with but she is far from a WOW) and she is average as far as looks. Not a fan of her as an actor as well. Lively is the reason to watch the movie...a goddess. That being said, a pretty good movie...I would give it about a 6 as well.

Agreed. My wife & I saw this when it was first released based upon good reviews and Elizabeth Moss. It got a 92 on Rotten Tomatoes and I don't know what movie those critics watched, because this was not a very good flick. Even my wife agreed and she usually loves these "woman gets her revenge on domineering evil man" story lines, which is all this really amounted to.
