I sort of think a decent season from JuJu would be a good thing for Johnson. Keep that top defender on JuJu.
Really on the fence on this one. With Ben back, I see Johnson having a stellar season, then on the con side don't see Ben being around much longer. So this could be a good sell high time. Gallup had a nice season last year, but with all the weapons the Cowboys have his ceiling is getting capped I think....maybe, guess I'm just not sure about his ceiling. :gaah: However could be a good buy low time. Maybe CeeDee takes a season or two to have a effect.
Could be Gallup over takes Cooper a the WR1. Last half of last season Gallup was the WR1. Wish the contract battle between Dak and the Cowboys would get ironed out, because that is one more thing to worry about.

Think I'm going to sit tight and pass on the offer, but it's not easy to do. Have no shares of Gallup and would not mind buying low on him this off season. Just can't convince myself trading Johnson is buying low. Generally speaking folks have Johnson arrow pointing up and Gallup pointing down. Myself I have Gallup having a similar season as last year, but Johnson making a big jump.
i like Gallup here but as with most that has been stated by everyone above its close

before ya turn it down which i get
maybe you can distract from the trade and make it 2-2 and pry something else ya like out of the other owner before passing on the Gallup move which ya see as pretty equal

well now after seeing T's feedback and anyone who reads these boards should abide by TLance's advice way before mine... oh ya way before...

Dionte Johnson sure has had a solid start and does look promising..

but who is to say that maybe next year we are not talking about Claypool in Dionte's spot while Dionte is looked at as failed as a number 1 they way we talk about JuJu now and give Dionte the mantle

when it comes to Pgh i have heard much too much hype over the years

ala Bryant-Wheaton-Washington....

sorry im now on the fence as well i do like Gallup but Dionte could very well be big this year..or than again not

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson told reporters he sustained a groin injury in Week 2 last year.
Johnson's sports-hernia operation in February was thought to be a minor cleanup, but the 23-year-old admitted he played through the injury for most of his rookie season. He hasn't received full clearance to return to training just yet but is hopeful he'll receive word "in the next couple days" and be a full-go in June's minicamps. Johnson astonishingly led the Steelers in targets (92), catches (59), and receiving scores (5) while playing through said injury and should only improve in his sophomore follow-up after working out with Ben Roethlisberger this offseason. It's only a matter of time before his eighth-round ADP inclines even further.

I posted the same thing an hour earlier before the wise and powerful Oz tlance.

I guess its those 3 MBBRL rings.

My advice is merely interesting. But when the mighty tlance throws his opinon in, oh, well then...

:kissass: :trash:

Still love you guys.

Maybe. :gaah:

I don’t want to guess on which player is going to be better long term. But in the short term it has to be Johnson based on opportunity.

Gallup is the 3rd best WR on a run first team with a QB who I feel is pretty overrated. Dak is a solid starter for sure, but I don’t think he is a top tier QB, nor ever will be. He will have you and down years. I am not sure that offense is good enough to consistently support 2 every week fantasy starters at the WR position, let alone 3. Gallup is going to be boom or bust, IMO.

Johnson on the other hand is in a really good situation to break out with Ben coming back and Juju struggling as a #1. Time will tell if he is good enough to take advantage, but I just think the ceiling for Johnson is considerably higher because of his likely role.

I have come to the same conclusion as what I bold in black on your post. However the part I bold in red I disagree with. The Cowboys are a run heavy team to some degree, but no more then the Steelers.

Right there with teams like the Redskins, Eagles, Jets Browns and Patriots
Even if you feel CeeDee is a special kind of a WR it's a stretch to rank him ahead of the starters the Cowboys have in place. Especially not in his rookie season and especially not this season with training camps likely getting shutdown. I think Gallup is neck and neck with Cooper in talent, but then I was never a believer in Cooper.
I do think Johnson is going to really blossom with Ben back and the offense getting back on track.

Cowboys defense sucks. They will throw. Gallup is still the deep guy.

Steelers defense is good and their QB is old. More risky.

I think I prefer Gallup, but I couldn't argue if you disagreed. They are very close, imo.

Please don't take this as an attack @tlance because that isn't what it is, and I do truly value your insights, but........

Whatever happened to Dante Pettis?

We still waiting for the breakout or hoping he leaves SF and can course correct on a different team?

Just a reminder that even if someone has a good eye for this game, no one gets them all right.

Had to throw a little cold water on these guys, they were man crushing hard for you and were getting a little out of hand on this thread, lol

Yep, Zeke gets a ton of carries, but that becuase he gets damned near all the carries, not becuase they run substantially more than anyone else. They're actually quite balanced. Pretty hard to get two 1000 yard WR's, and another 160+ targets to #3 and an ancient TE, being run first

Good efficient offense that ran lots of plays and scored frequently. So much harder to defend when offense is balanced. DAL has a better setup than 8-8, just need a few things to click to take it up to the next level.

Getting Aldon and Gregory back could be deadly if those guys still got it

Their biggest addition was subtracting the clapper. I dunno how much of an upgrade MM will be, but Garrett was LONG overdue for a demotion

I've wondered the same thing about Pettis. At first I thought it was a falling out with the coaching staff (and it still may be) but it could just be that the Kendrick Bourne Identity convinced them to go elsewhere, not to mention Jalen Hurd's potential.
