Both suck bc they were Tigers but...

Max.

Max has been overall more consistent the last seven or eight years but until last year JV was far and away the better postseason pitcher. Obviously Max has a few more years to build his case. I figure both end up in the hall. Which is just atrocious that the Tigers couldn't make it work

I mean he has pitched more in the postseason, Verlander is just inconsistent in the postseason. Too up and down. Always thought Verlander was overrated until he got to the Astros....I think he definitely vaulted his career and longevity is working in his favor. I would take Max though, like you said more consistent.

Yeah could have built a contender for years with those two possibly.

I guess you can start a catcher at shortstop if you want, but I don't know how it will go over in the voting.

I'm not really a baseball guy. To me, an outfielder is an outfielder. A pitcher is a pitcher. Especially with the older guys that I know very little about, I'm trying to get their positions as accurate as I can. . . but there's a good chance that I'll get something wrong. I fully expect it to hurt me in the voting if I do that though.

As long as in the NFL you don't start a linebacker who could easily play a 4-3 defense but generally played in a 3-4

That shit ruins the entire team

See. . . I love player versatility. I coached with a guy who works at Navy (who run a triple option offense) and we developed a system of substituting where our players knew pretty much every position on the team. Some guys always did better in feature roles, but all of my skills players worked on handoffs, sweeps, catching the ball and blocking (in line and out wide). We'd have TE's and WR's run routes from the backfield or take a sweep from a wing or back position, running backs lined up out wide or in the slot and would run routes or quick hitting screens in space, and we could mix and match personnel by pre-set packages to take advantage of our best players for specific situations. Want your top 5 power players on the field to run the ball but still have a way to open them up for a pass play? Easy. Get five pass catchers out there for hurry up stuff and flip easily between a power I formation and a 5 wide one? No problem.
