Wow. Props to him. Pretty pathetic that an employee is stepping up to pay them instead of the employer though.

Shouldn't they be eligible for unemployment? Especially that 600 bucks or whatever that the federal government is giving out for Covid.

This is where I'm at.

That $600 bonus is more than most of those guys make a week in the first place.

A nice gesture by Price all the same.

But I don't feel bad for guys who are essential apprentice level at their craft not getting paid while they don't work for their employers. Not much anyway.

most teams are paying their minors

The Reds announced Friday that they will pay their minor leaguers through September 7.
September 7 would have been the official end of the 2020 minor league season. Every minor leaguer still employed by the Reds organization will continue to receive a previously-agreed-upon $400 weekly stipend.

MLB reporter Francys Romero hears that David Price will give $1,000 in June to every Dodgers minor leaguer.
It's an incredibly nice gesture, especially considering that Price hasn't even officially thrown a pitch for the Dodgers yet. The Dodgers have also committed to continue paying their minor leaguers $400 per week through the end of June.

That is very nice of him but I highly doubt he would have done this in Boston... But... I applaud him for doing it. Though it's BS that players have to pay the salaries and not the Billionaire owners
