Yup.

In all honesty, outside of schools, Arizona didn't have massive closures.

Many businesses flat out ignored the guidelines.

Our numbers are up. But, again....so is testing.

I don't think we need to walk around in hazmat suits and stay indoors 24/7.

But, anyone that says " It's almost over" is either delusional or not paying attention.

I'm not sure we are even in the middle.

Yeah, no way this is almost over.

Even if there is herd immunity with this, there are still a helluva lot more people who are going to have to get infected for it to develop.

Unfortunately, that would also mean that more people will die on the way to herd immunity.

I could possibly see it being in the middle, but even then, that's only if there's herd immunity or a vaccine is developed.

I'm glad.

When I'm ordering stuff online, if it says it ships from New York, Florida or Louisiana.....delete...lol
I doubt you realize there is almost no risk from a package mailed from somewhere. We know a lot more about this thing than we did at first and we now know it's not surface based, it's aerosol (airborne water droplets from the mouth and nose)

Yes, all this.

Plus, we won't really know until most places are full speed ahead.

When most functions are returned to normal and the numbers are still decreasing, I will finally be able to exhale with extreme confidence.

Everything going on now is wonderful and trending in the right direction.

But, we won't know if it's really contained until we take the plunge.

It has to happen.

Dude...lmfao

You really should stop with the zero or no risk statements.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Lower chance than person to person does not mean next to zero risk.

Recent guidance issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sheds new light on how coronavirus spreads through surfaces.

Though there is the possibility that coronavirus could be transmitted by touching a surface — and then your nose, mouth or eyes — the likelihood of that is lower than person-to-person contact, which is believed to be the primary way coronavirus is transmitted.

This has been the hardest issue for me to tackle.

I am all for limited Government control.

As Americans, we have the right to be as stupid as we want, as long as it's not illegal or immoral.

Some states are ready.

Godspeed.

Other's need a bit more time.

Here are the cold, hard facts....As I see them....

We cannot continue on like this.

We have to start reopening.

More people are going to die.

It is unavoidable.

But, like you said...

Do it slowly, do it safely.

Yes, you have the right to decide if you want to risk it by going out.

I'm just not sure how to balance that with do you have the right to risk my life as well.

To me, that's where people who are vulnerable have to be responsible for protecting themselves.

We make decisions all of the time about what we are willing to do based on things like convenience, time, etc. Maybe people need to add the level of risk they are willing to take re: this virus to that list.

For example, I went to Home Depot the other day...but there was a line to get in. I kept right on driving and went to Lowes instead.

Not because of any fear of infection from the virus (the line was because they were limiting the number of people in the store), but because there are very few things I will wait in line for. Especially if there's someplace else nearby where I can get it.

However, because I have loved ones that are vulnerable, if I walked up to the store and didn't like what I saw re: precautions...I'd go to Lowes.

Folks who are vulnerable can make that same decision.

Yea, I can agree with all this .

But a shipped package? What are the odds an infected person touched your package and a few virions got on there and stayed there for days and then you touched them and then your nose? ALMOST zero. I never said zero.

Also you can just wipe down every package you get.

Point I'm making is it's hard to live your life as if everything is dangerous because it's not, not even now. However, obviously you are free to do whatever you like here. Just stating facts.

Cardboard is only 24 to 48 hours that the virus can live on it
And what are the chances your particular package got infected even then? It's not like every Amazon employee is sick. In fact most of them are not.

Again: Quit while you are behind.

Do you have Amazon prime?

For those that are unaware, you get same day, next day or two day shipments.

Guess how some of those deliveries are made?

UPS, FedEx, Postal Service, Uber, Lyft.

Do you know how Uber and Lyft works?

First person that accepts the delivery can come to the Amazon facility pick it up, drop it on your porch.

What if one of those folks is asymptomatic?

What if the worker that packed it is?

Me washing my hands as soon as I pick it up, lessens the chances of transmission.

But, the threat is still there.

I'm not trying to be a ass.

But, I am so very happy that people on the NBA threads research things for themselves and don't take others word for things.

Like, I have been wrong on a few things covid related.

But, listening to you would be risking your health.

I try to differentiate between what I think and what is actually known to be fact.

You don't and that's dangerous.

I appreciate what you are saying, we just disagree about risk levels. Believe me I read a great deal on this topic for my job and to know more, I know the facts. I promise you I am in no danger, I'm taking all reasonable precautions.

So, that means almost zero?

Maybe it's the blatant exaggeration of facts that has me stuck.

Not all packages are placed in cardboard.

Some are envelopes, plastic etc.

What about the items themselves that might not be in a package?

Plus, being asymptomatic and not sick aren't the samething.

Honestly, you do this to yourself.

You chose to respond to my post about not ordering from certain areas with erroneous, easily debunked information that you stated as fact.

Great.

Me too.

By not ordering from areas with high infection rates.

Sports is slowly coming back. As of June 20th, all the top soccer leagues in europe will be up and running. Hopefully we can say the same for our sports a month later in July

I just wanna know when we can expect basketball.

I'm bummed about the Olympics.

But, there is only so much ESPN NBA Classic I can watch.

Although, Fox Sports Arizona played Kemp, Paytons Sonics vs Tom Chambers Suns yesterday.

Chambers was a savage.
