Yeah I'm on the players side now. That is so horrible.

Tell them see you in February for Spring Training

So basically the owners aren't willing to lose any money?

I don't know what their books look like but 80 percent pay cuts for half a season is pretty wild.

Not to go all political board on here but @thunderc , what happened in Minnesota and also yesterday in Central Park here in NY is why I always been a fan of Kaep and his awareness of social justice. Didn't like the way he handled the last 2 years when it came to football

Will just leave the following tweet here and not discuss this any further because not trying to go all political board on here

I honestly don't know.
Pretty sure that's how it is
So no need for non playoff teams to play. Yes it would be fun for us to see them do crazy things but they need to just be smart, keep it simple.

Lol

I'd just walk away from the table. That's a ridiculous offer.

This is exactly what I was trying to say the other day.

People get too caught up in the actual numbers and think “man, that is a lot of money”.

But giving up this much at the negotiating table could have a lasting impact in the labor battle for years. Only way I see the players even considering a deal like this is if they are given some long term concessions in their favor beyond 2020.

I watched that video. So disgusting.

The 4 officers involved have already been fired. At minimum the guy on top of the victim needs to go to prison. I am thinking maybe the Asian cop does too on a lesser charge, if not the other 2 also.

How they could just sit there and watch without intervening when the victim was clearly in distress is absolutely despicable. And it isn’t like they weren’t made aware of what was happening by the onlookers.

All it would have taken is for any of the 3 onlooking officers to say, “hey man, get off his neck”.

As I posted on the PF re: this,

My Dad was a police officer for most of my life. I almost always side with the police on stuff like this.

I can see no justifiable reason for what those officers did.

Even if putting his knee on the suspects neck isn't a violation of policy for that department, it would be as a way to subdue the suspect and he would need to release that particular hold once the suspect was subdued/stopped resisting.

We don't know how long the officer's knee was on the man's neck prior to the video starting, but we do know that for the entire 10 minutes of that video, the closest he came to "resisting" was when he was saying that he couldn't breathe.

Hopefully, getting fired will be the least of these officers concerns. They need to be arrested and charged.

Yeah.

And I am not condoning any type of police behavior with this comment.

But I can understand how a well intentioned police officer could make a mistake and shoot somebody they shouldn’t have in the heat of the moment.

Choking the life out of somebody over the course of 10 minutes +?

Hell no. No justifying that.

Are you fn stupid? Did you get dropped on your head? You had to have, that’s the only thing that makes sense.
I figured you'd go the "this is why no one likes you here" reply, but that works, too, I guess......better than saying what is painfully obvious. Neither you nor the actual player have a clue about the CBA and what owners have wanted.

We have to realize you can't compare sports to any other profession. Sports can and should only be compared to sports.

You have to consider your health. If the league say we're going to play 5 regular season games before the playoffs. The Blazers are 4 games out in the loss column. Why would any of them want to play? Imaging tearing an Achilles and missing basically all of next season because you participated in essentially a meaningless game after not playing a real basketball game for 4 months?
and never mind he might have concerns about the virus. whether he should or not isn't for us to determine. Risk/reward just might not be worth it to him.
